Jason's POV:
Lucky for me, I have the best lawyer/assistant who managed to find a way to get me out of this dump of place called jail. I've only been locked up for two days and it was by far the worst experience of my life. If you're wondering what hell is like, jail is similar to it.
"Jason McCann you are found not guilty, you're free to go" the judge said hitting the gavel. Once she said those words, I proudly walked out the court room with a big smile on my face. I would not only like to thank god but Jesus for this.
Now back to hunting down that devil. James. Oh he fucked up big time, if he really thought that sending me to jail was gonna save him more time, HA! You have another thing coming for you James. Since he's so mad about me killing his cousin, he can join his cousin in hell after I'm done with him.
Sam's POV:
I spent 2 long boring hours in the living room laying on the couch, watching Friends on Netflix. James basically locked me in the house until he gets back from wherever he ran off to. I'm being held hostage in my own house, crazy right? Sadly there wasn't anything I could do, if I left James would somehow found out and hunt me down.
There was a knock on the door. He's back already? He said he wouldn't be back until night that's odd. But yet again if he has the keys to the house why would he knock, he could easily just unlock the door himself. When I opened the door, I was expecting the devil to stand right in front of me but my heart jumped when I saw Jason leaning against the door.
"Jason!" I shrieked and jumped into his arms. He almost lost his balance as he struggled to hold me.
"Looks like someone missed me" he chuckled. He has no idea how much I missed him. It's only been two days since he been locked up but it felt like two years. I was worried that he would never get out. Praise the lord.
"How did you get out? I thought you were gonna be locked up for years" I said.
"I got my ways of getting myself out of trouble, you should know that by now" he said in a confident yet cocky tone. It was true, the only thing Jason is smart at is avoiding consequences every time he does something wrong.
"Enough talking about me, I missed you so much Sam Bam" he pulled me in for a tight high. That nickname is still cringe worthy and I don't think he'll ever stop calling me that, as much as I hated it, it's nice hearing it after all these years. I remember the first time he called me that back in high school only because I used to call him ugly nicknames as well.
"I know you did, nobody can resist me" I joked.
"Wow my cockiness rubbed off on you a lot, I feel so proud I taught you well" he pinched my cheeks. I couldn't help but laugh.
"So did you come here to kill James already because I'm tired of that guy living" I said.
"Not really" he responded. That's weird, especially hearing that from Jason. If my memory is correct I do recall Jason dramatically yelling that he was going to kill James.
"What? Why" I looked at him confused.
"I mean I'm gonna kill him but not now, I'm gonna get Grace first, that's more important" he said.
"I thought Cody was already doing that?"
"I'm not trusting that little boy to go get my daughter, something about him gives me a bad vibe I don't trust him one bit" I don't think anyone trusts Cody, except for other criminals and his gang of delinquent friends.
"What about James? You do realize I'm being forced to marry him a few more days, he's already planned the wedding out"
"Fuck" he cursed to himself. "I forgot all about that, can't have someone marrying my girl" I couldn't help but blush when he said my girl. I'm still confused at Jason and I's relationship status. We're not friends with benefits because we have a kid together, we're not even married, we're not dating, so what are we?
"I don't want to get married to a psychopath either" I said.
"What if you do marry him?" He paced in circles taking the time to think. "It could be a distraction, if you go along with this wedding plan it'll give me more time to find Grace and get her back on time, and later on I'll just come to stop the wedding and end James afterwards" he gave me a devilish smirk as if he thought of the best scheme known to men.
"What if you don't come on time to stop the wedding?" I responded. I hated to rain on his parade but everything can go wrong with this plan of his. What if he doesn't make it back at all..that's my worst fear ever.
"Why are you such a mood killer, can't you just have faith in me" he rolled his eyes.
"I'm sorry I'm just scared that something might happen to you or Grace along the way..I don't want to lose both of you and be stuck with James"
He noticed the sudden sorrow in my voice. He placed an arm around my shoulder, "you're not gonna lose us Sam, I promise that won't happen, and the only person you're gonna be stuck with for the rest of your life is me not James" he smiled down at me and planted a kiss on my forehead.
"Promise?" I stuck out my pinky finger so he could accept the pinky promise.
"A pinky promise? Are you serious" he laughed.
"Just accept the stupid pinky promise dumbass" I said.
"Fine I promise" he accepted it.
Moments later, he prepared to head out the door. This could be the last time I'm going to see him, hopefully it isn't. Hopefully God answers my prayers and keeps this boy safe for me. I lost him once and I don't want it happening again.
"So this is it" I sighed.
"I believe so" he sighed as well. We gave each other a final hug before we said our goodbyes. He released me from the hug but I didn't. "Uh...okay Sam you can let go now" he said. I can be so dramatic sometimes.
He walked out the door, I watched him go to his car. "Don't die!" I called out. His car slowly drove off and disappeared into the streets.
