I thought that we were all settling in nicely. Dad had found work at a local car shop and Alexa and Will were eager to start high school. I had gotten the house all unpacked and it actually felt like we could fit in here. We could make this work. Will was even trying out for the lacrosse team today! I had planned to go watch the tryouts and meet up with Alexa there. And right as school ended I found myself walking to the high school play fields. I spotted Al in the parking lot and waved to her. Together, we sat on the cold bleachers and watched as 20 adrenaline pumped teenage boys headed out onto the field. I trusted Will enough to know that he wouldn’t shift. I looked around the bleachers and saw a man standing at the edge of the field, watching four of the boys play. There was a huge black kid, a smaller but still very well built brunette, a tall lanky blonde curly haired kid, and a small dark haired boy. I shook my head trying to get the stranger out of my mind. I set back a bit and tried to watch Will but I couldn’t concentrate. It felt like there was someone burning a hole into my neck. I turned around slowly and saw that the man had taken a seat at the top of the bleachers in the back. He leaned his back against the railing, looking bored but interested at the same time. I found myself staring at him, this beautiful stranger. He had black hair and bright hazel eyes that flashed across the field with the players. He was built that was for sure. He had on jeans and a leather jacket but you could see the muscles that looked like they were going to burst through the materiel. And of course he was the one looking at me. Our gaze locked and it felt like there was nothing else in the world. Just us two. His eyes were guarded, not showing any emotion. I was the one to drop the gaze. It felt to familiar, and way to… intimate. The coach blew his whistle loudly and called the boys over. I heard the coach start to rattle off names and saw boys jumping around. As the last of the names were called Will walked over to us quickly.

“Alexa, do you feel it?” Alexa looked at Will confused.

“Feel what?” Will looked at her like she was crazy.

“There’s a pack in town. Three of the guys on the team are werewolves, and that man over there,” Will’s eyes flicked to the man that was staring at me, “Is the alpha”.
