I breathed in sharply. I glanced around trying to look inconspicuous. He was still looking at us. I turned back to Will.

“Who are the other wolves?” Will turned around and pointed them out. The three wolves were the ones that the alpha had been watching. That made sense of course. An alpha’s ties with his pack are usually so strong they can sense each other from over 15 miles away. The man was talking with the boys now and they were glancing over at us. I rolled my eyes at our ‘trying-to-look-unsuspicious-but-failing’ game. I put my hands on my sibling’s shoulders and pushed them towards the sidewalk. I turned to Will.

“Alright Will you go change quickly and meet me back here. Alexa I need you to run to the store and grab some stuff ok?” Alexa nodded and took the list I had handed to her. I crossed my arms and tapped my foot nervously as I waited for Will. My thoughts began to wander to my father and what we were going to do for dinner tonight. I snapped out of my thoughts in a heartbeat when I saw the alpha walking towards me. I pretended not to notice when in reality I felt his presence coming closer and closer until it was a few feet away from me. I turned around then and put a fake smile on my face.

“Oh hi. I didn’t see you standing there.” I said in a monotone even if my heartbeat had started to get a little frantic. The man smiled slightly, only the corners of his mouth turned up. His face seemed to soften a bit as he looked at me.

“Hi. My name is Derek. I saw you watching was it your brother? Out there. He’s really good.” Holy crap his voice was beautiful too. Deep and warm. If it was possible he looked even more attractive up close. I smiled for real this time.

“My name’s Shay. Yeah that was my brother. Hopefully he made the team…”

“I heard he did! My… friends told me.” Just then a hand was placed on my shoulder. I looked up into the familiar face of my brother. He was scowling at Derek a bit and I placed a hand on his chest and warned him to back off a bit with a look.

“Derek this is my brother Will. Will this is Derek.” As I introduced Will to Derek, four boys fanned out around him. There was the tall black kid, the other tall Blondie, the well-built brunette, and the scrawny dark haired one. Derek turned slightly and his eyebrows raised a hair at them. All the boys had a look of curiosity on their faces. Derek started to introduce them and Will seemed to grow more agitated by the second. Pointing to the tall, black kid first Derek said,

“This is Boyd,” Now the other tall one, “Isaac,” Now the scrawny dark haired one, “Stiles,” And finally the last one, “Scott.” I nodded at them and gave each a small smile. Scott and Isaac gave me a smile back and Stiles had a look of suspicion on his face. Boyd just kind of stood there, looking like he fit in with the group but seemed out of place.

“Hey don’t I know you from some-“Stiles began to say and my eyes widened a fraction and my heart sped up.

“Well we should be going! See you around!” I said quickly and pushed Will towards the general direction of the street. I walked quickly away from the play fields with the feeling of five pairs of eyes burning into my back.
