I woke up to the sound of machines all around me. My body didn’t hurt any more but my head was pounding. Everywhere around me was the beeping of machines, footsteps, people talking. I sat up slowly. I looked around the room and saw a pile of bodies on a couch and chairs on the other side of the room. I picked out Erica’s blond head, Isaac’s curls, Will and Boyd’s large bodies, Alex and Cora asleep in the chairs and Derek passed out against the chair Cora was setting in, facing the bed I was currently laying in. I heard a creak and the door opened revealing three more people. Stiles, Lydia, and Allison were carrying coffee but as soon as they saw me awake and blinking they freaked. There was hugging and crying and questions I didn’t want to answer straight away. The whole pack was here and everyone was happy. I hugged my siblings and my pups but the one person I was waiting for didn’t even seem to be in the room. As Scott finally let go of me, Derek stepped forward. The pack cleared away, all of them making lame excuses I didn’t even hear. All I saw was the man walking towards me. He looked exhausted like he hadn’t gotten any sleep in days. His ink black hair was mussed and his clothes rumpled. His hazel eyes were lit up though and they seemed to burn through me with such a  passion that I couldn’t help but smile softly up at him.

“Derek…” I breathed out. And then we were kissing, his lips smashed against mine, our bodies impossibly close. I pulled away after a minute and buried my face into his chest as the events of what had happened (Was it last night?) caught up to me.

“What happened?” I asked. Derek’s expression turned hard. After a moment he looked me in the eye and asked,

“Are you sure you want to know?” I rolled my eyes.

“Come on, Der, you know me better than that.” With a sigh Derek began to talk.

“After I got thrown out the window I started to heal. It was over in a minute but I felt like I had missed everything. You were on your father’s back, Scott, Isaac, Al, Will, Stiles, Lydia, and Allison were in the corner and Boyd, Erica, and Cora were helping me up. Once I was up Boyd and Erica went back over to Scott and the others. They knew how powerful an angry alpha can be and didn’t want to see any of their pack hurt. Cora stayed right by my side though. We watched as you strangled your father and how you said that the rest of the Carter’s were apart of my pack, how you wanted to be. And then he bit you.” I watched as Derek sucked in a breath and then he continued.

“Your father was dead. In a second I was right there with you, and someone called an ambulance. You were rushed to the hospital and we all stayed the first night. You healed over the second day though, and people went home to shower and change and sleep. I stayed with you though the entire time. So did Al and Will. No one wanted to leave mind you.” I started to process what Derek was saying.

“So… two questions,” I started to say, hesitantly, ”One, how long have I been asleep?”

“Three days.” Answered Derek. I sucked in a breath.

“Ok two, I’m a wolf now.” Derek sat quietly, unable to look at me. I wouldn’t have normally been able to hear his answer but now it seemed that everything had changed.

“Yes. You’re a werewolf Shay.”

Again it seemed longer while I was writing. Another chapter is coming up soon!
