So this is a bit of a long chapter... Hope you like!

The pups as I had grown to call them had school so Cora and I decided to do a little bit of shopping. I had started to move all of my clothes over to the Hale house. There were three extra bedrooms that Derek had given Will, Al, and I. Our rooms at the house my father had bought were practically bare. Slowly but surely Derek and his pack were absorbing us into their family. Cora wanted me to by some bedding for my room and I had agreed. We were browsing through Target when I had fallen in love with black and navy blue bedding. We had bought it and then gone out to lunch to Cora’s favorite restaurant. It was nice to have a day to ourselves. Usually I was training with her and Derek or with the pups trying to help them with their homework. Everything seemed to be working out okay. We were walking back to the barrowed Camaro when I stopped in my tracks. In the display case by the jewelry store was a necklace. It had a simple silver chain and there was a charm that hung down on the wearer’s neck. The charm was a circle with no middle. Lining the circle were green gems the exact color of Derek’s eyes.

“Cora. We need to go in there.” Cora had nodded and I had bought the necklace without a thought. We were in the car at the moment. Cora eyed my necklace as I pulled out of the parking lot.

“So why did you want that necklace so bad?” I blushed and shrugged. Cora just rolled her eyes like she knew exactly what I was talking about. I grinned and her and gunned Derek’s car. We shot off into the afternoon sun.

I pulled into the Hale driveway and got out of the car. I was wearing my favorite dark jeans and a blood red tank top with a barrowed sweatshirt from Derek. I pulled my bags from the car and laughed with Cora. What I didn’t know was that Derek was watching us from the window. He saw me throw my head back and laugh. He saw the sun illuminate my dark hair and how happy I looked. How my blue eyes sparkled in the sun. He saw me and thought that I was the most beautiful thing he ever saw. I walked in with Cora and as soon as I stepped in the door I felt two strong arms pull me away. I laughed.

“Well hello.” I grinned up at Derek. I reached a hang up and ran in through his ink black hair. Derek’s eyes shut and leaned into my touch like he craved it. I stared at the man in front of me. I soaked in his strong jaw and his stubble that always seemed present. His full, pink lips. He was so beautiful. And that’s when I figured it out. I loved him. He made me feel like I was a part of a family, he made me feel protected and loved and cared for. He made me happy and safe. I loved Derek Hale. I pulled away from him instantly. I looked down and quickly walked away.

“Shay?” Derek called after me. I ran upstairs and threw the bags with the bedding in my room and jumped out the window. I landed in the bushes where I knew I would land and started to run towards the high school. I really need a car I thought as I ran. I was going to see if I could grab Will or Alexa and tell them that they could hang out at the Hale’s or they could come home tonight if they wanted. I would be at home. I got there just as the bell rang. I saw Will walk out first with Scott to his left and Isaac to his right. Will spotted me and walked over with the two boys following him.

“Hey” I said giving my little brother a hug “I just wanted to tell you that I am going to spend the night at home ok. You can stay at…at the Hale’s or you can come home it’s up to you.” Will looked confused. Isaac and Scott had similar expressions on their faces.

“Is something wrong?” Asked Isaac. I smiled at him reassuringly.

“No but if something does go wrong feel free to call me. Tell the rest of the pack too okay? Be safe and have fun tonight.” With that I turned on my heel and started to walk back to the house.

I had stayed at home and ordered Chinese food because I didn’t feel like making anything. As I picked up the remote to start another movie the doorbell rang. I jumped off the couch and ran to open the door. I opened the door to find five girls on my doorstep. I grinned.
