I find myself entangled with Anna as she rests her head on my chest with my arms wrapped around her upper body. My right leg is laid loosely across her lower half as I hum a soft tune. The rain has slowed down to only a light drizzle, but I know within a hour it will had completely stopped, but in this moment I try to savor every bit of time I have with her."What are you thinking?" Anna softly whispers, while tilting her head slightly so she can face me. I glance down at her saying,
"You. And how I wish I could freeze this moment so I never have to let you go." I smile down at her, bringing her face closer to mine. I ever so lightly brush my lips across hers before closing the small space between us by letting my lips lock with hers. I find myself at such peace while having her in my arms, her lips on mine and nothing but the great outdoors surrounding us.
"Can we just stay like this forever?" She asks, while tracing soothing circles on my bare chest. I can only wish we could, but I know every minute that goes by is one minute closer to her leaving me, again.
"If only we could..." I trail off, slowly running my hand up and down her arm. I find myself having trouble staying away, even while in her presence. My eyelids close, as my mind can only seem to think of Anna.

I'm awaken by the sound of chirping birds. I toss around in what I thought was my bed, but when I roll over the wrong way I am poked in the side by a stick. My eyes fly open, while profanities find their way through my lips. I toss the stick to the side, while trying to figure out where I am. It takes me several seconds before the night, before it all comes back to me. I look around, looking for Anna, but when I look up to the sky and see the sun is out and there's not a cloud in the sky, I know she isn't here.
I lift myself from the ground, stumbling in the process but manage to regain my balance. I walk over to the edge of the water to retrieve my shirt and jeans. I slip on the thin material and pull up the jeans until they are buttoned and zipped in place. I run my hands through my hair before heading back in the direction we came in yesterday. I can't help but think of Anna as I'm walking back through the almost silent woods, only the birds and light rustling of leaves blowing in the wind. Moments from last night start to replay in my mind. Anna's delicate fingers running across my skin, the way she would look up at me with her large ocean blue eyes. I can't help but wish she was here with me.
"God, this girl has me under some type of spell." I speak aloud, trying to shake the memories from my mind. I quickly learn she's not that hard to get rid of, because even with my efforts to rid my mind of her, the image of her body in Madison's bathing suite still seems to linger within my thoughts.
To try and divert my thoughts away from the stunning girl, I find myself thinking back on the man she had told me she was in love with. She had said this man named Charlie was her lover and that he worked at the Sexton House. I can only think of the caretaker, Charlie, but it seems so unrealistic that he and Anna were in love. I mean I know there's a lot of screwed up things that go on around, but Charlie? I'll make a mental note to ask him about it.
Several minutes longer of walking I can finally spot the tree line ending and joining in with the cemetery. I speed up my walking pace and jog the rest of the way out of the woods. Once in the clearing, I spot Daniel's grave and find my legs walking over to the old stone. I squat down and run my hand over the engraved words. I finally have answers for this boy. I finally know who he is and how he died. It strange to think this, but I feel some type of connection to this boy now, he was my Anna's son, he is apart of someone that is very dear to my heart.
"What do you think you're doing?" I hear a scruffy voice shout in my direction. I stand from my squatting position and I am met with someone I had just been thinking of. Charlie stands before me with an almost worried look upon his features. I stand away from the stone and say,
"I was just dusting it off, calm down it's not like you know him." I say, watching as he looks quickly down at the ground before looking me back in the eyes.
"Yeah, it's not like I don't know him..." He seems to trail off, walking slowly over to the grave. I watch him closely as he bends down and runs his hand over the stone as well.
"What were you doing in the woods?" He speaks, his voice sounding oddly different. I run my hand through my hair before saying,
"Same thing you're doing. Visiting a dead person that I love." His eyes snap up at me, shock and another emotion I can't seem to figure out plays on his features. "I know about you and Anna... I also know that Daniel is your son." Pure disbelief is the face I can see on Charlie. His hands start to lightly shake before he asks,
"H-how do you know this?"
"Anna told me."

I almost didn't update because this is so short and crappy, but I thought it would be better then nothing. I will try to write some more in the next few days and do a "44 part 2" kind of thing.
A lot is going to be happening in these last few chapters and I can't wait for you guys to read the ending! Comment your theories here! Nobody guessed the ending last chapter.
Peace out. I'm going to go watch "The 100" (don't comment spoilers please)
