Sometime in the recent past, I have myself saying that students can be described in two ways: the Shadows and the Spotlights.

The shadows are the ones that notice everyone else. They are typically the wallflowers and the nerds. To be fair, they can be noticed, but they don't acknowledge when they are. Instead, they take pride in watching and paying attention to the spotlights.

The spotlights are people who gain attention. Celebrities and attention seekers are the most known (stereotypical) types of spotlights, but there is a handful of spotlights who think of themselves more as shadows-which isn't true at all.

In personal thought, I believe that I am a shadow. My name is not known throughout the grade. My physical appearance isn't turning heads wherever I go. I doubt that half my "friends" even know where I live.

Then again, some of the biggest spotlights are oblivious to their own popularity and believe that they are indeed shadows. Even if it isn't very like that I, a very observant (not organized) person, is not a shadow.
