Ryan's POV
Dove looks so scared. "Please." I whisper. She looks up at me. "Last time...I had a boyfriend...he r-raped and b-beat m-me...I t-thought...I could t-trust him." She manages to say. She looks down. Tears in both our eyes. "Hey. I'm never going to hurt you and I'm not going to let anyone hurt you again." I whisper and push a piece of her hair behind her ear. "Promise?" She asks quietly. "Yes. Cross my heart. Hope to die." I whisper. I put my arm around she flinches, but I ignore it. I move a little closer and she puts her head on my chest. "Dove... Will you let me be your boyfriend?" I ask. She looks up at me. "Can I be your boyfriend?" I ask again. I can tell so many thoughts are rushing through her head. "I mean. I guess I just want to help you." I say. She looks up at me. "Ok." She says. I smile and she slightly smiles. She puts her head back on my chest and yawns. "Do you not sleep?" I ask softly. She shakes her head. Poor baby. "You can take a nap now. I promise not to let anything happen to you." I whisper. She closes her eyes and I lean back against the couch. I put my feet up on the coffee table and my parents come back in. "You got her to trust you?" Mom asks. "Yes. I feel so bad for her." I say. "She looked so scared when you mentioned your bedroom." Dad says. "Yeah. Now I know why." I say. "Did someone...hurt her?" Mom asks. I nod and look down at Dove. She has a scar on her cheek that I didn't notice before. I guess she normally covers it with make-up. I'll ask her about it later. "Do you know what school she's going to?" Mom asks. "No...I forgot school starts tomorrow." I say and sigh. "If she goes there make sure to look out for her." Mom says. "I will." I say. "You're a good boyfriend, Ryan. I see the way you look at her. I've never seen it before." Mom says. "Really?" I ask. "Yes." Dad says. "The way she looks at you too." Dad says. "Thanks." I say. They smile then go into the kitchen. I watch TV until Dove wakes up an hour later. "Hey." I whisper and she opens her eyes. She closes them and cuddles against me. I smile and she blushes. "Are you hungry?" I ask. She shakes her head. "Dovey you need to eat you look so thin." I say. She shakes her head again. I sigh and she looks up at me. She still looks super tired. "I should be going." She whispers. "No sweetie, why don't you stay for lunch." Mom says. "Thanks, but I gotta go." Dove says. "Let me drive you." I say. "It's a five minute walk. I'll be ok." Dove says. I hesitate, but nod. "I'll see you Monday after school for set." I say and puts my arm around her. She giggles and I pull close to me. I smile and say bye then she leave. She didn't flinch. SHE DIDN'T FLINCH! I smile so big. "What's up?" Mom asks. "She didn't flinch." I say. Mom smiles. I sit at the table and eat lunch.

Dove's POV
I walk home to One Direction's album blaring in my ears. I get to my apartment and sit on my couch. 'R u home?' Ryan asks. I smile. 'Yes. Don't worry' I say. 'I worry about u' he says. 'Thanks' I say. 'It's my job as you BOYFRIEN! Woohoo' He says. I laugh and text back 'U spelt boyfriend wrong' 'I'm excited' He says. We end our conversation on Ryan's mom making him go back to school shopping last minute. I decide to eat an apple and then continue to try and teach myself how to play guitar. Ugh! It's so hard. I decide to eat a small dinner and then go to bed because it's 10.
