Recap:

Then the unexpected duo, both battling off their own demons, walked merrily into the sunrise until they were another pair of silhouettes lost in the street.

They walked silently down now forgotten streets. Kael turned to her and voiced his many thoughts that were left unanswered.

“Why do you live in such an old and deserted area? Surely you would prefer something closer to your friends.” He said glancing at her from the corner of his eye.

“Well firstly this house has been in my family for generations and it suits me because people won’t ask why I have no slaves and I don’t agree with the principles of slavery anyway, so I tend not to socialise with people. My only real friend was Lilia but i guess she fooled me too.”

Kael watched Kere contemplating what she said, still struggling to decide whether or not she spoke completely true.

“I see.” He said lightly. He looked around and relaxed. “And where to, on this fine morning?” he asked changing the topic and trying to get more jubilee in their steps.

Kere gave a crooked smile pretending not to not the change. “Well my dear companion.” She said teasingly. “I need more food supplies and some other... activities to attend but you can most definitely go wherever you want to.”

Now weaving between the quickly filling streets as the people hurried past like busy bees collecting precious honey. As they passed the stalls different merchants would step in their path, beseeching them to buy the ‘latest’ fashions or the best delicacies in all the land.

Kael never got involved, always staying a step behind and watched Kere take each new approach in her stride; smiling at everyone, explaining she would not buy and sometimes having long conversations about their wares and profits. She would always laugh and show genuine interest in everything they had to say.

He followed her closely along the outskirts of the road until they reached a fabric draped stall that had its entrance covered in bright pink drapes with gold beads twirling over the fabric. As they stopped at the entrance a woman walked out of it.

Her long skirt tinkled as she walked forward and her long leg peeped through the slit in the emerald material. Her midriff caught the rising sun and glistened, showing off her tight abs. When she saw Kere she threw out her arms letting all the bracelets on her arms chime.

“Kere!” she exclaimed, letting her golden blond hair fly around her face with the force she hugged Kere.

“How have you been? You haven’t been around in ages.” The girl said with a crystal voice. Kere smiled lighting up her eyes.

“I’ve been preoccupied.”  She explained. The girl pouted.

“To busy to come visit me?” she said resting her hand over her heart feigning hurt. Kere laughed.

“You know what I mean Mimi.” She said shifting her body to the side as if asking ‘really?’.

The girl, Mimi, laughed cheerfully while Kere smiled, as did Kael, enjoying the friendly play. Kere reached up and flicked a long stray strand of hair behind her shoulder.

“So have you finished my outfit yet?” Kere asked kindly looking back at Mimi. Mimi jumped around with glee and then quickly stopped.

“I completely forgot!” Kere’s eyes widened as she looked at her friend shocked.
