Life in Alaska is great so far. You have moved in from the lower 48 to open a small business. That small business is an arcade with a pizza shop. You have one of the teenagers from down the block make the pizza while you man the arcade and front desk. The teenagers name is Olivia and she's a very nice girl. She loves making pizza and she is pretty much like your sister. Being together all summer everyday except Sunday gets you pretty close with people. Today is a Wednesday and usually not many kids come in. Most of my customers are kids and teens but I do get the occasional adult who wants a drink with his games. The weather is dreary outside and Olivia is in the back making pizza for a group that called in. She said it was a party of 4. So, you go along sweeping and cleaning. All the games work good and the ticket booth is stocked. Finally, they come in. The door bell rings and you hear them come in. "Man, that smells good huh!" Says one. "It smells pretty awesome if you ask me." You laugh at the last remake. "Hello, welcome to the arcade, are the the four that called in for a large pizza?" The one win curly hair comes up. "Yes, and how much to play the games?" His smile is contagious as the rest of the group looks around excitedly. "It's $20 for a group to play." He hands over a twenty dollar bill and I give them the coins to play. "Your pizza will be out in a few." You can't help but notice the large man standing behind them. He has eyes the color of the sky and he seems to like the sight of you. Blushing you turn to check on the pizza on the back. "Gabe! You scared her away man! You have to say something!" You giggle knowing they are trying to talk about you quietly but it's not working. "Alright alight shut up already!" Olivia snickers. "What?" She just laughs harder. "It's just, I have never seen you stare at someone hat way before. Or the way he looked at you. I wish I had someone that would look at me like that." She breaks off when the oven beats in the back. Usually she takes the pizzas to the customers but today she shoves it at me. "Go get'em killer." You just roll your eyes and take the hit pizza to the front. The guys are all crowded around the hunting game and cheering one of them on. "Pizza!" You yell in their direction. They all look back and smile. You have to quickly move out of the way so you wouldn't get trampled. "What to drink boys?" They all look to the large man. His face blushes slightly, clearing his throat he says. "W.. Water, please." You nod and walk quickly back to get a pitcher and cups. Olivia approaches you, "So, what's he like?" You frown, "He likes water." Laughing she gets your cups as you fill the pitcher. Coming back out the pizza is already missing a while corner of it. "Anything else?" They all shake their heads no. "No thanks." Says the one with curly gray hair. After about 15 minutes they are back to playing games. Near closing time, thy come back with tickets. Well, only one comes back with tickets. The others are sitting at the booth trying not to look over. The large man comes up to the counter. "Well, that's a lot of tickets ya got there." You mental slap yourself. Why would you say that!? He looks for a moment more before dropping them all on the counter. "I would like to trade these in for a date." You start to reach down for the cabinet before you realize what he said. "What?" "I would like to trade these for a date, if you would like to of course." His face is the color of a cherry and you could tell he was nervous. His eyes were pleading for you to say something, anything. "Yes." You blurt out. You didn't even think! Your heart is racing as he lets out a sigh of relief. "My name is Gabe Brown, what's yours? And when would you like to meet up?" He holds out a large hand and you take it still unsure what you just did. "(Y/n). And Friday would be good, at 12?" He nods. His hand dwarf yours. Gabe lets go of your hand and stands awkwardly. "Would you like to play against me?" You ask. His eyes seem to brighten and he nods. You walk around the counter grabbing a few coins. Together, you waste away three hours. And befor you know it Olivia comes up, "Uh, (y/n) I have to go home now." You turn around and smile. "That's fine Olivia, thanks." She smiles and leaves walking home. "Sorry to interrupt, but we have we go to. Our brother here has kept us here long enough." The one who says this has long curly hair and wares glasses. He seems to be very serious. "Oh, okay. Yeah, uh see you Friday then?" You ask stepping back. He looks accusingly at his brothers and they leave. His warm smile takes your breath away. He runs a hand through his frizzy hair and holds his hand at his neck. "Sorry I have to leave so soon." His eyes seem to search you for something. You get true sudden urge to kiss him. He. He says something that made you loose your breath. "Can I, gosh, can I kiss you?" You nod and he takes you into a kiss. The kiss sweeps you off your feet and sends you over the edge. You have never felt that before. After a few seconds he breaks off and smiles. "See ya later, (y/n). Maybe you will even beat me next time we play." You don't have any words left. "Yeah, later Gabe." The door shuts and you stand there for another 5 minutes wishing he could stay just a little longer.
