:josh:

all of our families gathered around a dining room table.

i was forced to sit directly across from tyler. he just awkwardly sat there while not moving at all.

i kept staring at him as he blankly looked into this distance while he was pushing around the corn on his plate.

just like parents always do, they blurt their child's accomplishments.

i didn't have anything special to say about myself so i let my parents do all the work.

"well my son, tyler is in a three-piece band. they've released their first album and they played around the area quite often." his mom mentioned.

that seems cool that he's in a band. i play the drums so that's cool.

his mom offered us tickets to his show tomorrow night. i took her up on the offer.

i want to know more about him now that he's gonna be my neighbor for a long time.

as his mom kept talking about his band, he just sat there with his head on his hand and rolled his eyes.

this boy seems interesting but he doesn't seem to like me.

i will admit that he's a teensy bit cute.

i ended up just leaving the dinner table after i finished eating. i got up and just sat on the couch.

little did i know that tyler followed me in the living room until he spoke to me.

"sorry about my parents, they like to embarrass me like that."

"no, it's fine. what is your band name anyway?"

he sighed and mumbled "twenty one pilots."

"i'll check you out later then." i nervously giggled.

tyler just sat there staring at the rubber band around his wrist for almost 10 minutes.

"are you okay?" i questioned him.

"yeah, im fine." he said in a low voice.

we sat in silence once again until our parents came out to announce something to us.

"joshua, the joseph family will be coming over for dinner every wednesday now." my parents said excitedly.

tyler groaned as he sat back into my couch.

im actually excited to see tyler again even though he just doesn't like me.

i walked him to the door and tyler didn't even say goodbye to me.

i went back into the living room and just tried to watch tv to get my mind off of him.

no one has really disliked me from the start like he did.

and now i have to support him at his concert. oh great.

my parents came in and questioned me "how was tyler?"

"he didn't really say much to me at all."

"he was probably just nervous."

no, he just hates me..

:tyler:

i was casually just sitting upstairs strumming my ukulele until my mom barges in.

"tyler, we're going to the neighbor's house for dinner tonight."

i groaned in complaints "do i have to."

"yes, you have to actually make friends in this neighborhood. its not going to end up like the last one."

"fine." i said as i got up and changed into the most plain shirt i could find.

i followed my parents next door, im not excited for this at all.

i don't want to be stuck in a house with middle age people.

we walked in and the house was very nice and organized.

i thought it was just a middle aged couple until i saw a boy with red hair walked down.

that's a bit weird but ok?

i was forced into a room with that kid with red hair. i felt my anxiety levels bursting through the roof.

i just tried to distract myself by texting my friends. i don't know what to do.

he introduced himself as josh. i just mumbled back my name, ugh.

it was just an awkward conversation but it didn't get any better at dinner.

i didn't want to eat at all and the kid was just staring at me.

my mom had to invite him to my concert tomorrow, why does she force me to make friends.

after dinner we were forced im a room again where he kept questioning me.

i was so happy to finally leave the house after my mom embarrassing me and telling everyone about my band that will make it nowhere.

i sat in my room with the lights out as temptation was flowing through my veins.

i don't want to see that kid anymore but every wednesday, im forced to.
