i sat back in my house once again. i wanted to do something to occupy myself for the rest of the time.

eventually, i ended up taking a nap until 3pm and ignoring everyone that came across me.

i waddled down the steps and made myself a bowl of cereal while watching whatever channel was left on our tv.

it was quite enjoyable until i remembered that i'm going on a date with the boy next door.

all i wanted to do was get up and slam my head into a wall as many times as i possibly can.

it felt like i had so many hours to spare but not enough time to do anything.

after hours of not doing anything of substance, i looked over at the clock. it kept flashing at me '7:02pm'

i dashed up the stairs as fast as i could to go find an outfit to wear. i could be fancy or just go casual.

where is he even going to take me? will it be a fancy restaurant or some casual diner?

i battled with myself for about another 10 minutes until i set the law down for myself. i'm just going to wear all black, super casual, just fine for me.

time was moving faster than i had expected, it was almost 7:50. i thought i should get a head-start to josh's house.

while grabbing all of my surroundings, i ran to josh's front door without even telling my parents where i was going.

as i knocked on the giant white door, josh appeared in front of my eyes.

"ready to go?" josh questioned.

"yeah sure, i guess." i sounded so uncertain about it.

all of us were standing in the lobby of the fancy restaurant that josh dragged me to. i did get to talk to the frank kid way more while firetruck boy & josh were arguing in the front seat.

i think he's a cool guy, i'll just have to deal with his annoying boyfriend for the rest of my time on this earth.

we were seated and i ended up sitting across from josh since that's how 'double dates work'. i've never been on one so who am i to judge?

after ordering our food, we finally got the conversation going. josh decided to yell out "alright, this is too silent. let's communicate, eh?"

gerard was practically falling asleep at the table which could be a good thing. at least he's not jumping down frank's pants in here.

frank kicked gerard in the leg to wake him up. josh explained that we should play a question game called 'ask tyler 853 questions just to get to know him'

"so tyler, what kind of music do you like? frank asked me.

"well i can listen and appreciate almost anything, especially alternative."

"how was your love life in grade school?" gerard asked.

"i had a couple girlfriends. they never made it past 3 weeks though."

"what are your favorite things about me?" josh smirked at me.

"well i love your hair, your personality, the fact that our parents actually get along, you actually still like me even though i was rude to you."

"alright, we're not going to intrude on your first date so frank and i are going to go outside for a few minutes." gerard said while dragging frank with him.

"it's just you and me?" i choked out.

"tyler, i never got to tell you how much i really like you. you have a nice face, you haven't left me, you still continue to come over my house no matter how awkward it is. im glad we can make this relationship work out."

"well we have a problem here, scout. what are we going to tell our parents if we unintentionally flirt at the dinner table."

"they won't suspect much, right? i know my parents aren't too wise to things like dating."

"i don't know how mine will react since they don't really want me dating anyone outside of jenna."

"my name begins with 'j', that's close enough." josh joked around.

i giggled as i stared at josh directly into his eyes. my mind wandered its way over to him.

i didn't want to be his friend, i didn't want to be his boyfriend, i hate love but i'd do anything to get in his heart.

gerard & frank came back after 5 minutes. the four of us continued to joke around while waiting for our food to come out.

i know things about everyone except firetruck so how about i play a game of 'ask 835 questions' with him.

"so gerard, how long have you and frank been dating?"

"i don't fucking know. i've been with him since 7th grade and naturally we just assumed that we're dating. now we're just hoping in each other's pants whenever we feel like."

"do you have any hobbies?"

"well i draw a lot. frank tells me that they're good, i don't really see it at all. he's the reason why i still even try to draw anything."

the time flew by faster than i expected. in the blink of an eye, we were on our way home. after dropping the two love birds off, josh & i were alone outside of my front porch.

"tonight has been fun." josh trailed off.

"yeah, i have a surprise for you." i jumped up and kissed him on the lips.

he pressed his lips against mine and i felt every butterfly in my stomach run at the speed of light.

"thanks for the wonderful night but do you mean the kiss this time?"

i giggled "for now on, i mean everything that i say."

"i mean it"
