Lucy's P.O.V.
I woke up and Dal was gone ... again. All week he has been leaving early for work. It's driving me crazy because then he comes home eats dinner then goes to bed. The only time he stays up instead of going right to bed is if we are with the gang or he's going out. Never just for me. I get it he's tired from work but come on! I'm carrying his CHILD!!!
I got out of bed and went downstairs. I haven't been feeling too good lately. I went into the kitchen to make breakfast and there was a note on the fridge.
Dear Lucy,
Sorry I haven't been around much lately.
I miss you
Don't make any plans for tonight
I have a surprise for you
Love Dallas.
I was pretty shocked. Dally doesn't just do things like this. It's not his way. I went over to the phone and called Sadie. Ponyboy picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Pony is Sadie there?" I asked.
"Yup hang on." he said and in the background I heard. "SADIE THE PHONES FOR YOU!"
"She'll be here in a second."
I laughed. Then Sadie said "Hello?"
"Hey what time are you finished work today?"
"I don't have work today"
"Can you come over?"
"Yeah I'll be over in a few minutes." we both hung up the phone. While I waited I put some toast in the toaster.
A few minutes later I ate my toast in silence as I continued to wait. What's taking her so long? I thought to myself. As soon as the thought entered my mind the doorbell rang. I got up and answered it.
"Hey slow-poke what took ya so long?" I asked her.
"Well I'm sorry I have to make sure the three guys I'm living with get where they need to be when they need to be there." she answered with a much more sarcastic tone then usual.
"Someone's a but snippy today"
"Sorry. What was so important that you needed me to come over so early in the morning?"
"It's 10:30. But anyway look what I found on the fridge this morning when I came down." I handed her the note and waited while she read it.
We sat down on the couch. Sadie placed the note on the table and looked at me. Suddenly a goofy grin appeared on her face and she said "d'awwwwwwwwe that's SO sweet!"
"Yeah but it doesn't seem like something Dally would do." I said
"What do you think he could have planned?" She asked completely ignoring my statement.
