*** The Next Day ***
Sodapop's P.O.V
I woke up and looked over at Ponyboy still sound asleep like he usually is on a Saturday morning. I got out of bed and went into the kitchen to find Darry almost finished with breakfast. Looks like me and Pony will be doing the dishes ... again.
"Hey Soda, go wake up Ponyboy breakfast is ready." Darry told as if on cue as soon as I walked in to the kitchen.
"Okay" I replied.
I went back in to our bedroom and started jumping on the bed to wake Pony up. He opened his eyes and pushed me off the bed. Both of us were laughing and I told him breakfast was ready. We walked out in to the kitchen and began eating.
Just the Two-Bit and Steve walked in. "I smell food! Two-Bit said and walked in to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and grabbed a beer.
"Beer for breakfast Two-Bit?" Steve asked.
"Yup" Two-Bit laughed grabbing a piece of chocolate cake off the table.
"Soda, you working today?" Darry asked.
"No, but I am going out and I won't be home till later." I answered back.
Just then Dally and Johnny walked in "hey guys we still on for later?" Dally asked lighting a weed. We all nodded the I stood up and went to the phone. I dialed her number and she picked up on the second ring.
"Hello" her soft voice said into the phone.
"Hey babe," I replied a smile forming on my face.
"Do you wanna meet me out in the field behind the DX?" I continued quietly so the gang wouldn't hear.
" Yeah when?" she asked
"10 minutes I'll meet you there" with that we both hung up I was about to walk out the door when Pony asked "where are you going"
"Out I'll be back soon." I said reassuringly and with that I was out the door and on my way to the field.
When I got to the field she was already there. She hadn't seen me yet so I was gonna surprise her. I ran up behind her wrapped my arms around her waist and spun her around. She laughed and I looked at her. She was so beautiful. Her long dark wavy hair blowing in the wind her gorgeous brown eyes sparkling as they looked into mine. How did I get so lucky?
" I have some news for you" I said with a smile.
"What is it?" she asked.
"Tonight I want you to meet the gang" I told her.
Her face lit up but then her expression quickly changed, she looked worried. "What's wrong?" I asked her confused.
"What if they don't like me?" she looked scared.
"They are gonna love you. How could they not?" I reassured her and gently kissed her.
Dally's P.O.V
After Soda left we all hung out for a while. Saturday was the one day a week nobody had to work. Summer break just started so nobody had school either. After a few hours passed we came in side from playing football and the phone rang. Darry answered it. "Okay" he said into the phone then hung up.
"That was Soda. He said he was on his way over and will be here in about 20 minute."
"Well I guess that's my cue to go get my gal, I'll be back soon." I said over my shoulder as I walked out the door.
I left the Curtis house to go see her. I knocked on the door and she answered. She looked radiantly beautiful. With her dark brown curls and ice blue eyes, I just couldn't get over the fact the she was my girl.
"Hey Dallas." She said as I approached her porch.
"Hey babe you ready to go?" I asked.
"Ya, is what I'm wearing okay?" she asked.
She was wearing dark blue jeans with rips in them and a black t-shirt "you look fine, but eh grab a jacket it's cold out." she grabbed a leather jacket off the hook next to the front door and we were off.
