"Why, I would love to," I giggled and take his hand.
Marshall pulls me close and whispers in my ear, "Y'know, this isn't really.. My type of thing.. Want to go back to my place?" A smirk let itself play across his lips.
"Oh, sure," even though we had just got there, I agreed. With that, Marshall picked me up and few us right out of the ball room. It was a quiet flight to his house, and we carefully landed as his house came into view.
"Ladies first," Marshall says, opening the door as I nod with a smile and walk in.
He follows and shuts the door and pulls me close again and looks into my eyes. I look right back into his eyes, and my heart flutters.
"Ah, Marshall-"
He cuts me off with a kiss.
I'm so surprised that I accidentally step on his foot.
"Oh my glob, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to I was just so surprised and.."
He cuts me off. I must have been rambling. "Fionna, I have something to ask you."
I look at him, confused. "What is it?" My words were almost a stutter.
He took a deep breath. "I've been having a lot of fun hanging out with you lately, and I was wondering if you would be my girlfriend?" His last words nearly came out in a rush.
I took a minute to process his words, unsure if I was hearing him correctly. He wanted me.. To be his girlfriend?
Then I smiled. "I'd love to be your girlfriend."
He grinned. "Awesome."
I looked over at a clock nearby and sighed. "I should probably get home, before Cake flips out." I looked at him, almost apologetically.
"Alright. I can walk you," he chuckled.
And so we headed out the door and flew back to the tree fort. Outside, he set me back down on the ground and smiled. "I'll see you later, then."
I nodded. "Yeah."
He leaned down and kissed me again, and I felt my face heat up. "Bye bunny~"
"Bye, Marshall." I waved to him as he flew off.
I opened the front door and went inside and groaned. Cake was standing right there with her arms crossed.
