~ Three months after the incident ~

It has been one month since my release from the hospital, life for the most part returned to normal... With the exception of one thing.

Once I felt that I could I became enamored with bettering myself and becoming stronger, strong enough to help those in need, stronger than... That man...

Although I find that almost impossible, why you may ask? For starters, when I was being taken away in the ambulance I happened to catch a glimpse of the behemoth that had attacked me. The beast was heavily bruised and had no life present in its eyes.

It wasn't until I was resting in the hospital bed that had been provided to me that I realized that the man that saved me was the same man who killed that monster. Thinking back on it now it does seem kind of ridiculous, but if he didn't beat the monster then who did? It had to be him, if he wasn't able to kill the thing then who did? Hell, how did he get all of that rubble off of me with little to no problem at all?

I sighed and looked out the window of my apartment, everyone else had begun returning to their everyday lives and acted as if nothing happened at all. At that moment a thought crossed my mind. "I'm unemployed now..."

I groaned in defeat and fell onto the floor. "Now how am I going to pay for this place, more importantly, how am I going to get my food?" I lay there thinking of solutions to the problem.

I still need to get stronger so I can still help those in need... But how am I supposed to do that if I'm starving to death and homeless? I sat up and ran my hand through my hair. "Life just isn't fair is it?" I said to myself.

"Ugh... Why am I complaining? I was given a second chance by some stroke of luck that not only did that man save me, but also that metal pole was somehow able to hold up the rubble long enough in order for him to save me." I took another look out the window and scanned the area.

Off in the distance were some mountains and a dumb yet brilliant thought came into my head. I got up from where I was and began packing my things. "Wait, do I even need this stuff?" I said, looking down at a suitcase with my clothes in it.

"I guess I won't." I said, walking away from my clothes. "But... What am I supposed to wear up in the mountains, more importantly, how long do I plan on being gone?" Too many things to worry about so I opted to just say "Screw it." And left my house with nothing at all.

Moving onto the sidewalk I stood, looking up at what would be my new home for God knows how long.

I must have been standing there for a while because the people that passed by me began looking at me oddly. I felt embarrassed by the looks they were giving me so I began my walk away from not just people, but my old life as well.

My walk continued for over thirty minutes and I could already feel some form of fatigue. "Good... *Huff* Lord... Why did I have to be so out of shape...? *Huff*"

I perked up when I was staring face to face with the bottom of the mountains, well, not so much the mountains but the forest that led to the mountains. "You got to start somewhere, right?" I said to myself as I tried to rationalize my decision to basically drop off the face of the earth to do my training.

I pounded my fist into my hand and a serious look took over my face. "I have work to do..."

Little did I know that I would spend the next three years of my life here.

~ Day 2 ~

My body hurts and I can barely stand after just one day of training, I've already experienced the wildlife here and let me tell you. It's freaking terrifying, bears, lions, panthers, all of it. I'll have to rest a bit longer before I even attempt to continue training for the day.
