The 10 Gateways

Welcome to the Jungle

January 10th 2008

It was a new year, a new adventure. We had done a lot of planning. Our group isn't the biggest amount of people, so everyone was going. Dr. Roberto's team wasn't going, but they had been studying the gateways more. We have no clue how to open them.. But, today we start into the first gateway. We know that it leads to a jungle, as they've put a camera through the gateway. We've decided to go through as actual people today and find out about the sender of the message. And that's all to it. We were all at the gateways by 1 PM.

"You ready Epic?" Rie said to me a little worriedly.

"Ya, I hope we're okay." I replied.

Joe was yelling in the background. Who knows what about.

"Joe just seems to be a different kind of guy.." I said quietly.

"What?" Dr. Roberto said behind me making me jump.

"Oh sorry, didn't mean to scare you Epic." He said right after.

"Yeah, thanks for the heart attack." I replied annoyingly.

Then the others gathered around and we all talked a little about plans and things to do. We also all had brought tents, backpacks, clothes, etc. Anything we thought could help us in there.

"Okay everyone. We all have our materials. Time to go off!" I exclaimed to everyone.

Dr. Roberto's team helped us get ready and everything. Then they gave us the 'A-okay' and we went into the gateway. I was the first one in. It was a very weird feeling going through the gateway. I got a tingling feeling and then all of a sudden I was in the jungle. After me was Dr. Roberto, then all the others. Soon we were all at the jungle observing everything, and then we started unpacking.

I made a shelter with Jenny pretty quickly. Rie and Dr. Roberto had collected extra food. Joe had knocked down some trees. Sharkky and Elesa looked for water. Jack helped get any other materials. And Henry got a few small tables and cot-like things made. Before we knew it, it was night time. Luckily half of us brought sleeping bags, because Henry couldn't make enough cots for everyone in time. Mostly the girls took the beds. And then I gave Dr. Roberto the last bed. I perfered sleeping bags.

"Psst." I heard someone say.

"Who's talking still" I said, barely above a whisper.

"Joe" said Joe.

I asked, "Why are you talking?"

"Because I want to.." Joe said like he didn't care.

But then a thunder storm rolled in and I didn't hear him after that. So I check my watch. I grew wide-eyed and though I was crazy for a sec. But then I thought from the gateway. My watch read 27:92.. The Gateway and different world must've made it go off. Shortly after that I fell asleep. I hope that It wasn't after midnight that night. I'd need a lot of energy.

January 11th 2008

I woke up when only 2 sleeping places were empty. I remember Dr. Roberto's bed. And one of the sleeping bags. I went outside and saw the sun. It was probably 7:30ish. I guessed. I saw Dr. Roberto. But that was all. He had something in his hand that he was messing with. I walked over where appartently made a little shelter for stuff.

"Good Morning Dr. Roberto." I said to him. He jumped a little bit. I guessed he was half asleep.

"Well, hello epic." he replied. "Henry is up. Helping me gather some stuff."

"Oh." I said surprisingly. I thought Joe would've been up, as he has a really weird sleeping schedule.

After a moment a silence I broke back in. "What do you have there?" I asked.

"A clock. I realized my clock wasn't working last night so I decided to make one that works here." He replied without looking up.

"I realized that too. I hope the clock works." I said back and walked away.

I got dressed and then we were ready to start the day.
