"Oh my God! Are you serious?" She gasped.

"Really, whisper? Really?" Irritation was vivid in my voice.

"What? She had to know!" Whisper raised ger coice, defending herself.

"I still can't believe you blushed, Rubes." Michelle sure was cracking up.

"I was not blushing." This was seriously getting annoying.

"Just admit it. Nothing bad will happen if you do. You blushed. End of story." Whisper crossed her arms over chest, and raised her left eyebrow; challenging me to say something else.

I huffed in frustration, "What pisses me off is that Hayden might think I was distracted because I was thinking about him."

 She scoffed, "And you weren't?"

"No. I was thinking of....s-something else."

 "Care to elaborate?"

"I do...but...can't." I said slowly. I couldn't tell them I was thinking of my new in-human ability. Sometimes, I do think about telling her what really is going on in my life, but...I cannot guarantee she would not tell anyone.

"Well...at least you admitted you blushed, that's enough for me." She giggled.

"Not for me, it isn't." Michelle decided to speak up.

"I was thinking of a lot of stuff, actually." At least, that was not a lie.

 "Like what?"

"Like..." I can't think of anything to tell right now. My head is screaming at me to tell them the truth, "Like...I can't tell you."

"Why not? Aren't we your best friends?" Michelle frowned. That was lame and low. I glared at her

"You are. I just...can't tell you." I can't look at her anymore. And if that frown deepened, I will fall apart.

She sighed, "I know you will tell me later." she stated. My brows furrowed; she sounded so sure of what she said. How come she knows that I will tell her what is really going on later? I will not do that.

"Whatever." I finally muttered. "What are you doing today?"

She sighed, "Babysitting. My parents are going to this dinner with friends from work, and there's no one to watch over little Kathy except for me so I won't be able to hang out tonight."

I nodded "What about you, Whisper?"

"My uncle and his family are coming for dinner, and maybe they will stay the night and I have to be there for the whole thing...Moms." She shook her head. "what are you going to do?" she asked after a minute.

My shoulders sagging, "I don't know." There's no one I know in town free for tonight. Some have work, and others have plans with their families or girlfriends or boyfriends. Wait, I don't know what plans Hayden is making. I will call him after a minute or so, "there's no one I know free tonight. But I don't know about Hayden. I guess I'll just call him." They both looked at me like I've grown two heads.

Whisper giggled, "I know you like him, by the way."

I stared blankly at her. I guess there is no point in denying it, we will argue forever and still know that I do like him, "I guess I do, don't I?" I sighed.

Her smile fell, "Wait. Did I hear you correctly? Did you really just say you like him?" I nodded questioningly, "You're not arguing!"

"I know. If I said I don't like him, I know we'll start arguing, and I already know you'll win the argument. So to save the trouble, I admit it. I do like Hayden." I smiled.
