She should be so tired by now. I never saw her move that much; Whisper relentlessly kept pacing back and forth in my living area. I sat in the middle of the couch as I watched her move from left to right. I took a glimpse of Hayden, he was sitting in the window seat owning an expression that should indicate a painful case of constipation, but he was just trying not to laugh. I shot him a glare and he raised his eyebrows along with his shoulders as if to say he cannot help himself.
I rolled my eyes and looked back at my shocked friend. She incoherently mumbled to herself and glowered at the ground. I tore my eyes away from her only to let them fall on Troy; leaning against the doorframe and watching her intently. His eyes never left her, and his face didn't show any worry whatsoever about the situation - only concern for her nerves.
I can’t guess what she’s feeling, but she sure does look angry and a bit flabbergasted. But who wouldn’t be? She just walked in on me knocking him to the ground, straddling him and choking him to death, and to top it all, my “boyfriend” was standing not six yards from us watching.
I don’t regret my attempt to murder Troy though, to be completely honest.
“Whi-…”
“Sh!” She didn’t even look at Troy as she shushed him. Whisper just held up her hand in the air and remained to walk in a questionable circle about the room.
“Would you just –…” He started again.
“No! Just shut up!” She looked at him this time straight in the eye and yelled. “You don’t get to say anything.” After she threw that at him, she turned to look at Hayden. “And you. What is wrong with you? Seriously! How could you let them do that? Were you, like planning to join them later or something, huh?” I blinked.
What?!
…
Ouch! How the hell did she let her mind go that far? Did it really look like Troy and I were…doing something else other than me wanting him to join the dead? I tried to imagine what we looked like, but I just kept picturing myself with a red face and Troy with a purple one. Wait, we’re not supposed to die from asphyxiation; I was trying to squeeze his neck to mush. I wanted his spine to snap and his trachea to break. I almost smiled as I thought of how close I got to it until Hayden shouted my name out of it, but this is a serious situation here.
“Dude, it’s so not what it looked like.” I was about to get to my next part but I pursed my lips when she spinned towards me with crazy eyes. They were going to pop out of her skull, it’s not even funny.
“You, of all people, should not ‘dude’ me.” She warned.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Hayden put a hand on his mouth. After three seconds of trying to calm himself down, he decided to speak up. “Man, I don’t want to be in your place.” He actually said that! Troy looked at him like he grew two heads, but he kept talking. “I mean good luck at trying to figure out who’s gonna kill you first.” He smashed his hand to his mouth again to keep from laughing.
“Don’t worry, babe. After this is over, I’m gonna kill you, too.” I sneered.
“I’m about to kill you both right now if you don’t shut the fuck up!” Whisper pulled at the roots of her hair and huffed in frustration.
“Why me?” Hayden countered. “They were the ones fighting. I was just watching her beat the shit out of him.” The last bit of his sentence broke a bit because he was holding his breath so he wouldn’t laugh. I rolled my eyes. I wasn’t beating the shit out of him; I was only strangling him.
