It was a long trip back. When I say long, I mean it. It was full of little kid songs and movies, screaming, crying, and dumb knock-knock jokes. I took a nap on Cameron's shoulder until we eventually at the airport. We returned our rental car and hauled our suitcases to the security gate. They checked everything thoroughly since there have recently been bomb threats on planes. Once we were in the clear, we boarded the plane. I got my window seat, Cam to my left, mom and Drew behind me, and Triston and Liam beside Cameron.

The plane landed with very little turbulence. Everyone walked sluggishly to the car. It was dark and I couldn't see. Cameron and I were trailing since I was carrying 2 suitcases. There were many turns and everyone was walking fast, so Cameron and I got lost. "Mom! Drew!" I hollered. Nothing. I repeated myself 3 more times, and still no reply. I gave Cam a weird look. I tried to call mom, but there was no reception.
"Marco!" I hear a man's voice yell.
"Polo!" Yelled another one.
"Um, Cameron?" I whispered.
"Don't make any noise. They're trying to find people." Cam said softly. I nodded and huddled up against his side.
"Marco!" It grew closer and closer. Suddenly, a gang of guys looped around the corner of a car. I hid behind Cameron.
"Well, who are you?" asked one of the boys. His pants were practically down to his knees.
"What do you want?" Cameron replied roughly.
"Nothin, chill man. Who's that girl behind you?" He said, smirking.
"My girlfriend."
"Come here." The man gestures me toward him.
"No." I crossed my arms and leaned against Cameron's crutch. Adrenaline pumped through my veins.
"Okay." The boys gradually got closer and closer. "Scared?"
"Stop it. Get out of here!" Cameron yelled as he clenched his jaw.
"No!" The black boy raised his fists and punched Cameron right in the jaw.
"Help!" I cried.
"What, I'm not gonna hurt you!" He stared creepily.
"You can't hurt him either." I stood up straight, ignoring my fear.
The guy stepped closer. Cameron screamed.
"Ow!" I looked over to find one of the members stomping and kicking Cam's bad ankle. I jumped on one of their backs and yanked them backwards. He laughed.
"Laugh one more time." I put him in a head lock.
"Ha!" He laughed. I tightened the head lock. Still on his back, I squeezed my legs around his waist tighter then raised up my ankles and slammed down.
"Holy-"
"Leave us alone!" I interrupted.
I climbed off of his back and he fell to his knees. I punched him square in the knee.
Cameron was leaning on a car holding back tears.
"GO AWAY!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
"Watch your back." They picked up the boy on his knees and casually strolled off without a word.
"Are you okay?" I asked frantically.
"I can't feel from my knee down." He said shakily.
"We need Drew and mom." I tried calling her again, no reception.
"Mom!" I hollered. Tears fogged my eyes.
"Emily," Cameron began. "It's okay. We're both fine." He gave a faint smile. I gave one back.
"We need mom and Drew." I whipped around in search for them. I called their names.
"Emily! Cameron!" Liam called.
"Liam! Help!" I yelled. Thirty seconds later, Liam bursted out in front of us.
"Oh my.." His jaw dropped.
"We got cornered by a gang. Cameron needs to go back to the hospital." I said as my lip trembled. Everyone else ran into the scene. My mom hugged me.
"Why didn't you call me?" She cried.
"I had no reception." I glanced at my feet.
"Let's go to the car and call the cops." Drew said with wide eyes.
"I'll carry you Cam." Liam told him. Cameron nodded and partially carried his weight on one foot and leaned on Liam.
