A few weeks later, spring break swerved around the corner. All I intend to do is hang out with my friends, eat food, sleep, and watch Netflix. We didn't have any big plans, so what else was I going to do?

The first day we were off, Lexi texted me and asked if I wanted to come over to her house. I changed into stone washed jeans, black nike slides & socks, and a white crop top/hoodie with black sleeves. I loosely curled my hair then drove over to her place at noon and stayed overnight. When I rang the doorbell, immediately her dog started barking and clawing at the door. I've adjusted to it. Lexi swung open the door with a smile slapped on to her face.
"Come upstairs. We've got to talk." She gestured me up the steps and into her room. I chucked my bag of clothes onto her floor and sat in a blue chair.
"What?" I said eagerly.
"Well, guess what I'm doing for spring break?"
"Having more fun than me." We laughed.
"My family is going to New York! I'm so excited! I get to go see the Statue of Liberty, shop and all that good stuff."
"That sounds really cool! Hope you have fun." I smiled. "So what do you want to do?" I asked her.
"Do you want to go to the mall or something?" Lexi asked.
"Sure."
We both hopped into my car and drove to the mall. As I clicked on my turn signal to get into the parking lot, I noticed a police car. They're always here, but they usually don't have their lights on. All Lexi and I saw was a cop handcuffing a man with blood on his dirty shirt and hands. The guy looked frustrated.
"What the heck do you think happened?" I asked. Lexi pointed at a little Sudan next to the police car. The back window was shattered and stained with his blood. The guy tried to break into the car.
"Do you want to get something to eat then come back?" I asked.
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea for now. Let's just go to subway." Lexi shot back.

As we were eating, I asked Lexi what she thought the guy was looking for.
"He probably saw something expensive and thought he could try to sell it, like an iPad or something. I don't know."
"Too many crazy people in this world." I laughed and tossed out our trash into a tan bin.
We went through a different entrance this time, just incase. Lexi managed to find a decent parking space in the center of the lot. We strolled up to the front doors of Macy's and accelerated straight to AEO. I bought a knitted sweater that's gray, black, and white. We sprinted through a crowd of pale tourists and pointed at the ground while saying, "You dropped your pocket." They'd all stare at the ground in a daze while we darted away to Pacsun. Lexi purchased a Lindsay Lohan shirt and I chose a Diamond Supply Co. sweatshirt and a plain, gray long-sleeve shirt with a strand of white lace across my biceps. I love it.
"Let's get matching outfits." Lexi suggested.
"Where from?" I asked as we turned the corner.
"Victoria's Secret?" She offered. I nodded vigorously and we were off.
"Let's each get a turquoise Pink brand sweater and the white, black, and gray mixed joggers." We scanned the unorganized racks of clothes until we found our sizes.
"Wear these Monday." I commanded.
"Yes ma'am." She joked.
As we were running around the mall, a pit of confusion rammed into my lower stomach, and honestly, I don't know why. My life is good. I have an amazing boyfriend who loves me, a family that loves me, and a happy mother. Plus, I'm at the mall with my best friend.
I decided to shake off the emotions and check out Hollister because they always have sales on jeans. I scooped up a black pair with a hole on the knee, and a dark, royal blue knitted cardigan.
"Are you ready to go? We've been here a few hours." Lexi wandered.
"Yeah, I'm ready." I wearily responded.
We ventured back to her car, and on the drive back to her house, I decided to tell her what was on my mind.
"Well, ever since we left Victoria's Secret, I've felt kind of nauseous... I don't know why." I confessed.
"I told you not to put banana peppers on your sub." I hit her shoulder.
"It's not that," I laughed. "I've been a little uncoordinated since we saw that guy break into the car."
"Why? Did you know him?" Lexi squinted.
"Oh my gosh... Lexi?" I felt the color literally drain out of me.
"Are you okay?" Lexi began to shake nervously.
"That guy who broke into the car- he reminds me of someone." I sank into my seat.
"Tell me who!" She commanded sassily.
"He looks just like him." I mumbled to myself.
"LIKE WHO?"
"Brad Pitt." I practically choked on air.
"EMILY YOU HAD ME WORRIED SICK DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!" Lexi shouted and shoved me.
I apologized and sprinted into her house.

When I went home, my mom called for our annual "family meeting".
I went and got Triston out of his room and shouted at Liam. We all slumped down the steps and sank into the couch cushions.
"Okay, so Drew and I decided that both of our families-"
Liam jerked to life in his chair. "Mom, you guys can't get married yet! It's only been like 4 or 5 months." Liam said in a serious manner.
"You didn't let me finish, Smart-Alec. As I was saying, we thought both of our families should go on vacation together during spring break." Mom thudded her feet on the floor with excitement.
"Where to?" I sat up in my chair.
"Yeah, where to?" Triston chimed in.
"We're going to Ohio to ski! It's a beautiful resort, and you guys can play in the snow. We all have hotel rooms booked."
"How long will we be there and who are sharing the hotel rooms?" I asked eagerly.
"We will fly on two separate planes and stay for 9 days. Liam and Cameron will share a room, Drew and I will have our own, and Emily, you'll be with Triston. Your room and Liam's room connect with a door, so if you have any trouble, you can go see Liam and Cameron." Mom shot back.
Triston clapped his tiny hands and bounced up and down with a smile spread acrossed his face.
