Its been two days since I received the picture and I have hardly been able to put it down. At night, I put it beside one of Amanda and stare at them until I fall asleep, usually with the same thought in mind...Where are you?

I am always hopeful that THIS will be the day I find them, and tonight I had a feeling like it might be soon. "Why?", you asked... because, I saw my star tonight; and it hasn't let me down yet.

We, the guys and I, were sitting on the patio downing a few beers before we went to bed; Ashley was in the middle of one of his many dirty jokes, when I saw the star shoot across the sky behind him.

I smiled remembering the night we met, her beautiful tear stained face looking up at me in the moonlight, and how that night was the first time in ages that I had actually felt alive.

My thought drifted away when the guys laughed at Ash's lurid joke; I finished the drink I was nursing and I went to bed, dreaming about my family.

The next morning I was jolted awake when Jinxx and Sammi ran into my room screaming at me, "Andy! you'll never believe who we saw!".

"Who?", I said trying to take it all in.

"That friend of Amanda's, what was her name... Kat?", Sammi asked.

With the mention of her name I was wide awake, "Are you sure!".

"YES, she's working at the Starbucks on Wilshire!", Jinxx finished.

I jumped out of bed, threw on some clothes, and grabbed my keys. "What are you going to do?", they asked following me to the door.

"I don't know! But if she's here, she knows where Amanda is!", I yelled as I ran out.

I drove to the Starbucks, walked in and waited in line; Yes, it was Kat. When it was my turn she looked up at me in horror. "Uhhh, Mike take over for me a minute.", she said to the guy behind her. She came around the counter, grabbed my arm and pulled me outside. "What are you doing here?", she asked surprised but already anticipating my answer.

"Where's Amanda?"

"Andy, she doesn't want to see you.", she answered trying to remain calm.

"Why? Because of this!", I snapped back shoving Aiden's picture in her face.

By the look on her face, I could tell she wasn't prepared to fight me on it. "Yes Andy, she was looking out for you. I know that's hard to believe but, she thinks you'll end up hating her if..."

I interrupted, "Kat, she's wrong. My life is nothing without her and Aiden. I've spent the last seven months trying to find her. Kat, PLEASE, tell me where she is!"

Her eyes were swelling with tears, "Andy, I-I can't. I won't betray her like that, she trusts me." she said and walked back inside.

I started to follow her in but decided against it, I knew she wouldn't tell me anything more.

I got into my car thinking about my next move when it came to me. I'll follow her home. She'll lead me right to her!

It was around 4 p.m. when Kat got in her car and drove off, she didn't go far just a few block away. I parked close by and waited; about thirty minutes later another car pulled in that I recognized, it was Amanda's.

She got out, opened the back door and slung a bag over her shoulder; then she picked up a small bundle cradling it in her arms. I watched as she entered the same apartment and closed the door.

I wanted to get out and run to her when I saw her; but I didn't, something told me not to. I need to think about what I'm going to do and what I'm going to say, at least I know where she is and I WON'T lose her again. I drove home and went to my room, to be alone.

I set my alarm for 6 a.m., I wanted to get there early so I could catch her before she left. When I pulled into the parking lot both their cars were still there, around seven I watched Kat leave for work.

I took a deep breath, got out, and made my way up the stairs to her door. I raised my hand to knock and stopped, I heard a baby cry then Amanda's sweet voice cooing to him as it faded away.

[knock-knock]
