After the excitement of Andy's unexpected proposal had ebbed, we laid back down and cuddled up again. We interlaced our fingers and I stared at my hand so small inside his as we talked.
We got everything out into the open: what happened with Jewels, my mystery man Nathan, and anything else the other wanted to know; so we could start over anew. When everything had been said, it was done; not to be brought up again.
Managing to drag ourselves from the bed, we got dressed and drove to Kat's house to pick up Aiden. On our way home we came up with a plan on how to tell the others; by playing a dirty, little joke on them, just for our amusement.
Andy called the guys and I called their girls to invite them out to dinner, seperately; then we reserved two tables that 'just happened' to be side by side. The ladies and I arrived first and were almost finished with our first round of drinks when the men showed up.
We played our parts perfectly! Andy protested when they were led to the table and saw us seated next to them. After he was informed there wasn't another open table he sat down begrudgingly, continuously making snide remarks in my direction.
I, in turn, looked at him in utter distaste and quietly telling the girls how much I loathed his existence. By then it was obvious we had been fighting earlier, which made everyone very uncomfortable.
As we started eating our appetizers and began on a new round of drinks, we turned it up a little. Andy started telling the guys about a woman he picked up last night and sharing all the vulgar details; I was getting even by telling the girls about the steamy encounter I had with my new man.
In between our death glares, we could see how hard each group was trying to change the subject and quiet us down; the tension was becoming palpable. Then we hit them with the finale!
I began to whisper to the girls, "You'll never believe what happened to me. If I keep it to myself any longer I'm going to explode!". They leaned in closer to hear and I pulled my hand from under the table, dangling the ring high for EVERYONE to see!
Their girly squeals caused the guys to look our way, then remembering who else was there; the squeals stopped and all eyes turned to Andy. It was like they were scared to breathe, much less move; but the guys were ready to pounce and hold him back, knowing he was likely to lead into an uncontrollable tirade.
For a few seconds there was complete silence, the look on Andy's face was priceless: shock, hurt, and hate all rolled into one very angry man; then a faint smile crept across his face and I burst out laughing. Everyone was dumbfounded, they quickly turned to me. I controlled the laughter just long enough to respond, "I said yes, to Andy!".
They could have killed us! But as the shock wore off and the laughter subsided, the party continued. We ate, talked, and enjoyed each others company like we hadn't done in a long time; it was a wonderful night together.
The next few months were crazy, we decided on April 5 for the wedding date. We flew home to tell our parents and spend some time with them; and once we were back in L.A., Andy was busy rearranging the band's schedule while I was finalizing all the wedding plans.
We reserved the Vibiana for the wedding and reception, it is a very beautiful and elegant venue. The colors we chose were red and black, of course; and everything was decided on with each of our personal tastes in mind.
Then we picked out Andy's ring, a very handsome platinum band with a black carbide overlay and centered with a single black diamond.
Finally, the attire was to die for. The bridesmaids had sleeveless, floor-length, black satin gowns with a long red sash that tied in the back; and each would carry white rose bouquets.
The groomsmen had black suits, black shirts, red silk ties and vests with a white rose boutonnière. Andy's suit was similar to the groomsmen except his vest and tie was white and his boutonnière was a red rose.
Then my gown was a sleeveless, white satin trumpet dress; the middle was black lace and trailing down the back was an intricate black design. I would carry a red rose bouquet and it wouldn't be perfect without a black veil.
Now we're down to the last few days, and we're busier than before. First, making sure our parents were settled in, and moving Andy's things to the BVB house, the rehearsal dinner and squeezing in time to get our wedding gifts for each other.
