Aspen's POV
«»«»«»«»As I strolled into the school, which was almost empty because it was late noon and most people have gone home, I saw Monica and Jasper talking to each other. I smile as I come up to them and they turn their heads, pausing their conversation to look at me. I changed out of my outfit that I wore to school because it was sweaty and smelt like the school so I changed into a large t-shirt that kept my body features hidden and black leggings. My t-shirt was grey and had a moon on the front. I had the same brown boots from today, though. They're my favourite shoes. They smiled at me and I coughed out an awkward cough.
"Hey Mouse." Jasper smiled and I giggled. They began to call me Mouse since they still don't know my name. And I'm small and quiet. "You guys ready to do this?"
It was lucky that we had one class where we were all together and it was also lucky that we had to group up to do an assignment. Jasper held up his books and I laughed a little as I nodded. We began to head over to the school's library which was big for a school library. About last year, I spent most of my time there because I believed that books are a lonely person's best friend. It was actually kind of true.
All of us were silent as we walked down a lot of stairs until Monica cleared her throat. "So Mouse, have your cuts healed completely yet?"
It's been weeks after the incident now and they still don't know that my aunt did it. Jasper has been asking me if I got raped or attacked by a creepy man. I always shook my head because he always got it wrong, but sometimes he didn't believe it. Monica actually asked if my aunt did it though, but that was only once and I think she felt bad asking about it.
I shook my head. But the wounds were getting there.
"Are you alright?" Jasper asked. He was concerned about me. I felt heat rush up to my cheeks. I knew that I was blushing and it was unbearable.
To be completely honest, ever since that incident where he stitched up my wounds, I've developed a small crush on him. It was unbearable. Oh, not just because I actually fell for someone, but it had to be my best friend. And we all know that if I tell him we won't just fall completely in love with each and live happily ever after. It'll be awkward and nothing would be the same if I tell him. I know that he won't feel the same way.
I nodded my head and turned my head away from him. I felt his dreamy green eyes burn through me, but I ignored it. I couldn't show him my red face at the moment.
We walked into the library in silence. "This way." Monica walked in front of us and I shrugged and followed her, Jasper at my heels. She lead us to a small round table with four chairs around it. A notebook and pen was already on the desk. That was for me to use so I could communicate with them. "We've already set it up." She told me and Jasper, who was standing next to me, nodded.
We all took a seat. Jasper and Monica were at both on my sides, leaving an empty seat in front of me. I stared at it. Wait, if they already set it up, why were there four seats...
"We have someone joining us." Jasper said nervously and I tilt my head in confusion. But it was only the three of us. I heard a distant sound of a door opening and closing and I knew this wasn't a joke. "The teacher made this girl join our group."
A brunette walked up to us, standing behind the empty seat. She waved at us and Monica and Jasper waved back. I didn't. "Hey, I'm Haley." She said. Haley had a high voice that suits her soft face. She had light brown eyes and wavy brown hair that reaches down to her stomach. She had clear tanned skin, lighter than Monica's, though and wore a white lace shirt and a denim skirt. She was pretty.
