As the car began to flip over, the world seemed to stop. Aspen was gripping her brother's hand that their hands were surely turning white.

She looked at her mom screaming. Her cheeks were still damp from tears and her hands were still on the wheel, her knuckles white from gripping too hard.

She then looked at her brother who wasn't screaming. He was sitting still, his eyes bulging and his mouth slightly parted. He was more in shock then fear.

And Aspen was screaming out her family members' names as if they weren't there with her and they could save her before the car hit the ground with such a large impact.

She wished that her family wasn't in the car with her. Maybe they would have a chance of living. She doubted that her family would survive such a crash, including herself.

But then it happened. They landed on the roof. She heard glass shatter and the silence which was more frightening than her family screaming.

She was suddenly resting her head on something. It was probably the roof, but whatever it was she was resting on it. She felt blood rush up to her head as she sat there.

Elliot.

She began to scream her brother's name. Tears dripped from her eyes and landed on the roof below. She collected enough effort to lift a hand to check for a pulse, but her vision began to become blotchy and she became tired.

Red and blue lights blurred in the distance and she tried not to pass out. She needed to stay alive. She needed to help her family.

Suddenly, hands were wrapped around her and were pulling her out from the extremely damaged car. The dragged her until she reached the grass and they put her there.

Aspen touched the grass with her fingers and it was soft in her hands. Maybe this was the last thing that Aspen will ever touch.

The beautiful touch of nature.

She slowly blinked, become more and more weary.

Her vision was becoming too blotchy. She was going to pass out.

But just before she passed out, she saw a set of young, multicoloured eyes.
