Jasper's POV
«»«»«»«»I woke up to my room, which was darkened apart from the rays of sunshine beaming through the gaps of the curtains. I blinked and my eyes adjusted, seeing my mostly clean room. I stretched and it was then that I saw another body underneath the covers. She was here, lying next to me.
The thought made me smile and as I put an arm around her small body, I remembered and relived our first date which was last night.
I took her to the best restaurant in town, which was Italian and was called 'The Italian Folks'. It was an outside restaurant and we had a great view of a nearby lake. I remembered that as we waited for our food to come, we pointed to the stars and shapes that the stars created. We laughed a lot and enjoyed our amazing meal, which was an extra large pizza. She loved it. I mean, I did too, but I could tell from her facial expressions that she could marry it.
We were having an amazing time at the restaurant up until it started to pour down rain. I relived the moment when we ran to the car, laughing. She slipped over in the mud, dirtying the beautiful, black dress she wore to the date. Her hair was flat on her head now and her eyeliner was smudged. But she was smiling, so I smiled too.
To prevent this clumsy girl from falling into mud again, I picked her and carried her bridal style to the car that I picked her up in and she asked me, or wrote to me, if we could go to my place so her aunt wouldn't see her like this.
Long story short, she stayed the night. We did nothing but sleep next to each other and cuddled, though. We didn't even kiss that night because I wanted it to be a night of getting to know each other.
And here I am with her sleeping peacefully next to me, who was wearing only a singlet and underwear.
I yawned as I carefully stepped out of bed, trying my best to not wake her up. But she seemed to be asleep since her breathing was slow and even. I slipped a grey shirt over my exposed skin and I left the room, slowly and carefully closing the door behind me.
I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.
My house is empty because my mom is out of town on a business trip and my sister is sleeping at a friend's house for the second night in a row. So, we had the house to ourselves.
I come out of the pantry with my hands full of ingredients. I was going to make breakfast in bed for Mouse, including my famous chocolate and chocolate chip pancakes.
I popped my head into the fridge and pulled out the fresh fruit out. You can't have good pancakes without it being topped with fruit. I stared at the ingredients and fruit before I started to mix the things together in two bowls - the chocolate pancakes and the chocolate chip pancakes.
Before I knew it, the pancake mixture was bubbling on the stove. The smell of a delicious breakfast filled the air. I love that smell. It reminds me of when I was younger and my mom and dad would both make us pancakes.
Now my mom is hardly home, my dad is in another home and my sister spends way too much time with her friends and her new boyfriend, Kyle.
I frown slightly as I finish the last batch of pancakes and put them on a plate. I take out a tray and started to set it up, putting two plates, two sets of cutlery and the pancakes on it. I put the washed fruit into a bowl and fit it onto the tray.
