Hello once again!
Okay, so I did change my cover and I'd just like to say this photo is nOT MINE, okay? I found it off Google, like usual, and was taken (the photo was taken) by someone else.
Also, that picture isn't mine, either 😂.
Okay, I better start writing.
Are you ready kids?

Aspen's POV

I stood on the large stage, behind the microphone and in front of possibly the largest crowd I've ever seen.

Behind me stood Monica. I looked over my shoulder to see her nod proudly at me. It didn't really make me feel better, but I liked the fact that she tried. I looked away.

I held a piece of lined paper between my trembling fingers. On it had a large speech, ready to be read aloud. But I wasn't ready.

But that doesn't matter now. Because all these expectant people are waiting and watching me.

So I put the paper down, took a deep breath and I opened my mouth to speak.

4 hours before

Monica sat in front of me, holding a make up brush. She was holding it close to my face but she wasn't watching. She was looking at Jasper, who was speaking.

"Mouse, this speech is amazing." He complimented me. I shrugged and smacked Monica's forearm as a sign for her to hurry up and do my damn make up. This was her idea in the first place.

"Ouch!" Monica exclaimed. "Okay, okay! Chill out." She then finally started on my make up.

We sat in Jasper's bedroom, getting ready for graduation. Three robes sat on his bed along with three hats. I couldn't help but glance at them every now and then.

I was so nervous. I don't even know why I agreed to this in the first place.

The other day, which was my birthday, the principal called Monica, asking if I could give a speech to my whole entire grade. I don't even talk to my friends and now I'm supposed to talk to everyone in my year.

"Hey, you're shaking again." Monica held my hands. She looked at me with a concerned expression. "Are you alright to do this? It's not too late to back out."

I shook my head. It was too late to back out. Who were they going to choose after me? Would they agree? How would they write a speech in time?

"Hey." Monica's tone was harder and more serious now. She was staring me down. "Then calm down, because it's going to be fine, okay?"

I nod. Of course it will be, but my brain and anxiety will certainly muck this up for me. I will then be just a pile of flesh and embarrassment.

"Just think of something that happened recently or someone or something that you really love." Jasper advised and I took it, thinking hard about it.

After a hard think, I relived the moment when we went out after talking in my bedroom on my birthday. We went to the shops, and they ended up buying me plenty of things. They said that they were my birthday presents. And I honestly have never been so spoilt in my life.
