Anakin:

"Help me, Anakin!" Palpatine called out to him, but for once, the first time in a long while since the seeds of corruption and lies had been planted within him, Anakin saw through the lies. "Please!" Palpatine desperately implored, and Anakin stepped forward with confidence and a scowl upon his face. This man had caused too much damage to an innocent galaxy.

"Never! I see through your lies now! You never meant to help me, or my family, Chancellor!" He snarled the man's name with distaste. How could Palpatine have betrayed him, after all the trust Anakin had bestowed upon him? "No! I can help you, Anakin!" Palpatine shouted at him, faith in his plan not yet wavering. He was clearly blind to not see it was falling apart right in front of their eyes.

Mace Windu listened to their strange and angered banter, purple lightsaber aglow. Anakin could sense confusion coming from the older Jedi, but right now there was nothing he could do about that. Anakin then took the course of action as he activated his own azure blue lightsaber. A familiar humming filled the room. Together, he and Master Windu approached the twisted Sith Lord that they had once considered a friend and ally.

"You will torment me no longer!" He raised the weapon in defiance, then struck down on Palpatine. The wailing of the Sith quickly faded into the wind, drowned out by the constant noise of speeder traffic.

"You did well. Thank you, General Skywalker," Mace nodded respectfully at him, a rare experience, then exited the office. He was most likely going to report the most disturbing news to the Jedi High Council. Anakin soon followed the Jedi Master, failing to notice the cloaked figure jump through the broken window.

Anakin walked through the halls of the Senate Building, finally at ease, a sensation that had long been forgotten. Other senators passed by him, smiling and waving in a greeting. Anakin was quick to return the favor. The closer he got to the Jedi Temple, the tenser he seemed to get. When he had finally reached the entrance, a figure immediately crashed into him.

"My apologi- Anakin!" Anakin looked up startled to see his old master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, staring at him. "Anakin- Senator Amidala requests your presence immediately in the Medical-Centre. Why is this? What's happened?"

Anakin gulped, not quite ready to unravel the truth that would now inevitably be told. "Oh Force! I'm sorry Master, but I must go!" He shouted, running past the confused and concerned Jedi. He could feel Obi-Wan probing his mind as he searched for answers, but Anakin slammed his mental shields up. This would most likely cause further problems but that was not his focus at the moment.

He ran. Ran down the long endless corridors until finally- he reached the Med-Centre. A droid quickly approached him and asked, "General Skywalker?" Anakin nodded in response, nerves getting the best of him. "This way please," the droid directed him to a large room, where Padmè could be seen holding a baby.

Without hesitation, he ran to his wife. "Padmè? Are you alright?" Anakin dropped down beside her in worry. Had he really missed this? Wait, what about the dreams? "Oh, Ani! You're here! It's a boy and a girl, twins! Can you believe it?!" Padmè exclaimed in giddy happiness. Anakin was shocked. Twins? Could they really raise twins?

The droids were tending to a small baby girl off to the side, and the tiny boy was sleeping in Padmè's arms. Anakin took in the boy's small and soft features, gazing in awe at his son. What color would his hair be? Soft blond or rich chocolate brown? And his eyes? Bright blue or chestnut?

"Luke," Padmè said, her eyes never leaving the small child. That had been the name they had chosen if their child was to be a boy. Padme had chosen the name, and while Anakin had preferred other names, he knew he could grow to love this one. After all, he would be naming their daughter. "Luke," Anakin confirmed, smiling down at the boy's sleeping face. Padmè handed Luke to him, and his smile only widened.

Blue eyes stared up at him. Yes! Luke had Anakin's eyes! He laughed happily as Luke kicked in the blanket he was wrapped in, yawning. Luke glanced up at him for another fleeting moment before the baby fell asleep. Oh, how he wished he could look into those eyes forever!

"Padme...he's.." Anakin couldn't find the proper words to describe just how he felt. Padme seemed to understand, though, as she smiled. "I know," she whispered almost to herself, but Anakin still heard. "Can you hold him? I want to meet our daughter.." Anakin asked and Padme gladly excepted as she was eager to hold him again. Then, their baby girl began to cry softly. "..Leia," Anakin whispered. "Yes, Leia," Padmè sighed contently. The droid holding his daughter approached him and then Leia was in his arms. "Precious girl," he cooed, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. Leia slowly opened her eyes, and once they were open, Anakin could see her taking in everything around them. Finally, chestnut eyes met his gaze and he grinned. Leia grinned too, although hers was toothless, and no doubt much cuter.

The door hissed open and Obi-Wan entered. "Anakin? What in the galaxy..?" Obi-Wan trailed off as he took in the scene around him. 'Um, Master! These are Senator Amidala's children! She just wanted me to meet them, you know, as we're friends and all," Anakin lied, trying desperately to salvage what had been. "Senator Amidala's children? Anakin, I'd like the truth please," Obi-Wan sighed and Anakin gulped, knowing there was no way out of this one.

"Master, this is my daughter Leia, and my son Luke.." Anakin said warily, gesturing to the two of his children. "I should have known. Anakin, may I talk to you in private? This is quite serious. You could be expelled!" Obi-Wan said as his temper flared and Anakin could sense him trying to get it back under wraps.

"Yes, Master," Anakin replied in defeat and followed Obi-Wan into the hall.

"Anakin," Obi-Wan said in a warning tone. "I know, I know..I messed up," Anakin seemed to fall back to his position as Obi-Wan's padawan, and he could almost imagine he was just getting a simple scolding for acting reckless and they would just move on, but no. This was not the case. Obi-Wan seemed to notice Anakin's feelings about this and his expression softened. "When did this start?"

"Three years ago," he said somewhat sadly but was happy with the great memories it brought. "Anakin, you will be kicked out of the order," Obi-Wan said sadly as well. "I know. And I'm going to miss you, Master," Anakin said, a melancholy tone taking root in his voice.

"I'll see what I can do. The council may or may not approve, but I'll do my best... May I?" Obi-Wan gestured to his daughter. "Of course, Uncle Obi-Wan," Anakin chuckled, though it was forced as he was still nervous about the whole incident. At least it was over, for now. Obi-Wan groaned but grabbed his daughter anyway.

"She's beautiful Anakin. You're very lucky," Obi-Wan said, breaking the silence that had befallen them. "Thank you," he smiled, looking at their sweet embrace. "Her name is Leia. It was my choice. Do you like it?" Anakin asked. Still, after all these years, he wanted Obi-Wan's approval. "Yes, I do. It's quite a lovely name," Obi-Wan smiled as he took in Leia's smile. "Would you like to meet Luke?" Obi-Wan nodded without looking up.

Together, the three entered the room where Padmè was finally sleeping, and Luke laid in his crib, rocking back and forth. Anakin gently took Leia into his arms and handed Luke to Obi-Wan. "Very lucky, indeed." Obi-Wan sighed, tracing Luke's soft features.

Oh, if only they had noticed the hooded figure in the office.
