Chapter 3- Heart Pain

As those two sat down at the bros table me and Marianna walked by. The guys gave me an I'm-sorry-look. I gave them It's-ok-look back. Nick saw me and waved. Jessica looked up and smiled at me. I smiled back at them and hurried to our table. When we sat down the other girls at the table were well aware

about what happened and were comforting me. It was a real help but what I felt for him just to be taken away was too difficult to move on from so quickly. We got our lunch and ate. While we were eating Mike came and gave Jasmine a hug from behind. Those two were a cute couple. I wish I had that. Later on, Richard came and sat with Tracy and Luis came to sit with Sophia. Oscar and John just came over. John had a crush on Mari but she wouldn't let him in. He sat next to her but they didn't look comfortable. Oscar came and sat by me. He was cute. I could tell he has a thing for me. I didn't mind. I brush through his hair playfully, he punches my shoulder softly. We laughed and turn back to the group. The Love was spreading and me and Mari couldn't catch it. When we were done we went out to the blacktop. Just as things were cooling down, there they were. They were walking together. My eyes couldn't take it anymore. I turned away and went back to the quad. No one saw me but Mari. The group was too busy hanging with their bf or gf. I didn't mind. Oscar and John were walking together since they couldn't get me and Mari on board. That might change. When the bell rang, I had to go to music with Nick. Luckily Oscar was in this class. Oscar ran up to me and pulled on my shirt.

"Where did you go Vanessa?"

"I went back to the quad after I saw Nick and Jess together. I couldn't take it."

"Oh. Well you have me."

He gave me a hug of comfort and I let him. Things might change after all. Nick met up with us after he said bye to Jessica.

"Hey Vanessa."

"Hi Nick. Do you have your HW?"

"Yeah. Here you go."

Both Nick and Oscar gave me their homework.

I collected their HW and the rest of the classes. I set it away and went through that class. Nick and I both played the cello so he sat next to me. On my other side was Oscar playing the viola. After the bell rang I ran to PE And I saw Nick meet Jess and give her a hug. At this sight I turned and walked into the locker room depressed. During PE Mari, Sophia, Tracy, and Jasmine saw I wasn't focused and they splashed water on me.

"Hey."

"You looked like you needed it Vanessa. You almost got hit by the door."

Sure enough when I turned around the door was swung wide open.

"Oh thanks guys."

"No problem."

A few of the guys met up with us in the Coke field. Oscar, John, Richard, Mike, and Luis were in our class. Almost the whole crew but the outcasts, Nick and Jess.

Oscar ran up to me and we did our handshake. The girls noticed how friendly I've gotten with Oscar.

"Oscar and Vanessa sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G."

We all started laughing. The guys noticed Oscar too and told him the same thing.

"Stop it you guys," we both said.

I turned to him and I saw the sparkle in his eyes. How cute. I smiled at him and I went to run the Coke field with my friends.

When PE was over I went to the pick up zone. Oscar rides the bus so I walked with him there first. I felt like things were changing between us. Maybe for the better. As I waited for my parents, Nick dropped Jessica off at the buses then he came to the pick up zone. As I saw him approaching the flame was trying to ignite but it failed and he reached me soon enough.
