"Hey Vanessa."

"Oh, hi Nick."

"I haven't seen you all day. I just saw you at lunch then at Music with Oscar and now with him at the bus."

"Well, you've been kind of busy."

"With what?"

"With Jessica. In the morning you were with her, then during passing periods, at lunch, and after school."

"Oh yeah. Jessica. She's great she's actually the one who asked me out."

"Really so I've heard. You guys must be close now."

"Yeah. I'm glad she was my first girl friend."

"Well I'm soooo happy for you. You must have forgotten about all the other girls from the past."

I gave him a cold look as I had those words in my mind. My heart just stopped. The flame and candle completely disappeared. A new was made for Oscar. Nick was cold to me now. He was a jerk.

Just at that moment my mom got there. He saw my face change and he knew what he said wrong.

"Wait... Vanessa... I didn't mean..."

"You know Nick, I use to really have a thing for you. It was trying to come back. But now with those words you have my back to you. I'm glad you two are dating now I'm meeting those who were in the shadows of your era. I have to go you egg head jerk."

My mom honked the horn so I ran up to my car and jumped in. With that I was gone.

After I left Nick finished his sentence with a little hurt,"that way."

Today did so not go according to plan. But hey, I think some things changed for the better.
