Main human characters: Yuki Cross, Kein Cross, Zero Kiryu (Cross)
Main vamps: Kaname Kuran (he's a pureblood vamp), Ichijo, Idol, Shiki, Ruka, Rima, Kain, (all of these are aristocrat vamps)(sorry if I forgot someone and I'm just doing their names they way that I'm used to it)
Info on the story: Yuki was found and saved by Kaname at the age of 5 and doesn't remember anything before it. Kein adopted Yuki and he is the headmaster of Cross Academy. A few years after adopting Yuki, Zero's family is attacked by a bad vampire.
At cross academy, there is the night class and the day class. The day class wear black uniforms with white stripes and the night class the opposite. The day class are human and the night class is vampires.
Since Zero and Yuki know about vamps, they are the guardians of cross academy. They make sure ,1: the vamps don't eat the humans,2: the night class don't get smothered by the day class girls (and one boy) and 3: I don't know, I just wanted to be random :3
Kaname, like I said earlier, is a pureblood vampire. Purebloods are extremely rare and they are practically the rulers of the vampire world.
There is the Hunter association and the Senate. The association is the main headquarters for vampire hunters. The senate, practically the same but for vamps. Zero is a hunter. He hates vampires. A lot.
Oh, another thing, it is taboo to kill a pureblood vampire.
