Breaking Jennifer Open(ON HOLD-EDITING)

Chapter 8

Jennifer’s P.O.V.

She helped me get off the ground and walked me to the back of the building and away from the staring eyes. “Jenny! Finally, I’m so sorry that I'm always fighting with Kevin. Please don’t ignore me anymore I miss you so much.” Raven said with tears in her eyes.

“Raven I’m not in the mood right now… please just leave me alone.” I pleaded as I tried to walk away.

“Jenny I can’t do that. There’s someone here that’s going to hurt you and you need to remember!” Ravens tears spilled as she blinked and grabbed both my wrists.

Does she know Ian is trying to kill me?

“Raven what are you saying?” I asked confused as we sat on a bench next to the gym. Using the wall I leaned back and thought of ways I could make Raven let me go. I don’t think I could handle anymore impacts for today.

“Jennifer I understand that you have no idea what I’m talking about but please just listen. You’re not safe here anymore, he’s here and I know this may be dangerous but I need to do it,” she said as she tightened her grip on my wrists.

“Need to do what? Raven your hurting me.” I winced in pain as her grip tightened even more. She raised my wrists and leaned in close to my face. Shock froze me from trying to move away. “Baiser de Mémoire(Kiss of memory),” was the last thing I heard before her lips came in contact with mine.

No. No. NO. Not Raven too! I yelled in my head. Ok, well this has been a horrid dream. WAKE UP! Come on wake up, JENNIFER! No amount of pleading woke me up. I could still feel Raven moving our lips. And I could only see her with my wide eyes.

Just as with Kevin, a tremble coursed through me sending images flying in my head. Raven and I were dancing…  I was being cornered but she stabbed… These images were blurry and not as sharp as Kevin's were. Finally getting over my shock I began to pull my wrists without any success.

Anger.

That’s the only emotion that was coursing through my veins. I had had enough. I may not be the strongest person in the planet but I am a person! Adrenaline coursed through my veins and I shoved Raven away from me until she fell off the bench.

I was speechless. As angry as I was all I could do was glare at her as the tears spilled.

“Jenny I’m sorry but you-” Raven began.

“Shut up.” A whisper.

“-remember. Are you oka-“

“Shut up!” I yelled. Now it was Raven’s turn to be speechless. Students were headed back there classes as the bell rang in sync with my yell. A few heads turned our ways but only spared a glance.

I rose off the bench and ran out of the school heading home. Taking the shortcuts I had found, as I avoided Kevin and Raven, I ran through the forest that led to my house. Unfortunately, I tripped. And fell. No I didn’t hit my head with the fall but that didn’t stop a pain from forming. I laid on the ground grunting in agony with my hands holding onto either side of my head. My lungs seemed like they were full of tar preventing my breathing. I was gasping for a bit of air to fill my lungs and to clear my mind.

Breath. The doctor said not to panic. It’s just a small migraine. You can control it. Breath… breath…

With that I sucked in air filling my lungs. Following the air as I exhaled, came blood dripping from my nose. I wiped some off with my index finger and just stared at the black substance. Now I’m no genius but I thought the iron in our blood cause the color pigment to be red. My head still pounded and tears raced down my cheeks but all I could think about was going home and taking a hot shower.

As I used the trees around me to help me up, I wiped the tears away and continued walking until I spotted my white house with a peach colored roof.

Moving the key inside the lock I remembered what Ian had said to me earlier that day. ““Jennifer Hunter be warned, now that I have found you we will settle this once and for all. No more running no more hiding, enough time has passed!”

No, he’d never come here. I pushed those thoughts away and headed up to my room. Locking my door I headed to my balcony. Opening the doors I stepped outside into the cold breeze and let my mind process all the events that have happened in such a short period of time. I could feel my hand rise to my face, touching the stained lips I once called virgins.

Slowly opening my eyes I looked down as the leaves of autumn danced in the floor creating mini tornadoes. What the hell happened today? All week I’ve tried to avoid drama and within the blink of an eye everything turned to shit. The leaves kept dancing. Why did Kevin have to kiss me by force? Not only him but my best girl friend, Raven, the one I could count on. Does she have feelings for me like the ones Kevin has? She mentioned Ian… Or at least I think she talked about Ian.

Did Ian threaten her too? No. If he ever laid a hand on either her or Kevin I’d…

‘You’d what? Kill him?’ my subconscious questioned with a wicked tone.

No I could never… kill somebody, an uneasy feeling overcame me.

‘Don’t be too sure about that.’ With that said many images rushed to my head. ‘Remember what you were. What you are. I doubt you truly forgot how hurt he left you, who betrayed you, and who stood with you no matter what.’ She whispered.

I clutched my head with my fisted hands and shut my eyes closed as the wind picked up and blew the once innocent autumn leaves straight at me. Screaming seemed like the right way to express the pain that was emanating in my head.
