Angeline's POV:
"Nobody in the system by Shadow, waiting on results from his fingerprints we lifted off your book," Marylynn said. I looked up from my computer and frowned. We've been trying to find out who is for the past week. He doesn't seem to be dangerous but I need to know who he is.
"Probably not his real name then. We need to find out who he is. I don't like having a stranger living under the same roof as Ashton." I said. She nodded and left the room. I sighed and stared at the mess on my desk. The people from my father's job finally send over the files from the case they're working on. Basically, they have very little evidence. They need my father's signature to throw out the case. Any other time I wouldn't care. However, not once has my father thrown out a case for any reason. Something has to be wrong for them to want to get rid of this one. They said they were reopening the case, but I read the documents they gave me to sign and those were documents to destroy cold case files. Not only do I have this to worry about, but I also need to find out who Shadow is. Shadow is obviously an alias. Part of me thinks he doesn't even know what his real name is. For someone who's only 20 years old, it makes you wonder how long a person would have to be on the streets to not know their own name. That's going to make it a lot harder to find out who he is. With Steve breathing down my neck, my desire to get my degree, and Shadow stumbling into my life, I have so much on my plate.
I packed up all the photos and documents and put them away. I've had enough for the night. I headed to my room and plopped on my bed.

"Ma'am," Shadow said. I groaned from my bed. What year was it?
"What?" I mumbled.
"May I go to your library please?" He asked. I gave him a thumbs up and he scurried away. He asks to go there every day. That guy has some weird fascination with books. He reads like five books a day. Not the smaller books, like thick books with 400 plus pages. I used to be the same way but then I got busy. Rarely do I have the time to do anything now. I groaned and got out of bed. My body ached for no reason. I slipped on a silk robe and made my way out of my room. Richard was already in the kitchen doing whatever.
"Bro I said you were off today," I said with a yawn. He turned and grinned wide.
"I know, just making you some breakfast." He said handing me a plate. I thanked him and perched myself on the bar stool.
"Where's Marylynn?" I asked between bites.
"Still sleeping. For once that woman is sleeping in." He said while getting me some chocolate milk. He drinks orange juice. I hate that bitter stuff.
"Worked her over last night huh?" I asked with a wink. He blushed bright pink and I laughed. I heard them last night from my office. I'm pretty sure Shadow did too. If he did he didn't say anything.
"Sorry about that." He said quietly.
"Don't worry about it hun," I assured him. He smiled and left the kitchen. I forgot to mention the fact that he was completely naked.
"Mistress!" Shadow called from upstairs. I frowned and slid off my stool.
I made my way upstairs and walked down the library. I found Shadow with his head in another BDSM related book. Curiosity got the best of him I see.
"What is it Shadow?" I asked while crossing my arms and leaning against the door frame.
"Will you train me?" He asked without looking up from the book.
"Train you for what?" I asked.
"To be a submissive ma'am," He said quietly, his eyes meeting my gaze. There was a pink tint on his cheeks and his Adam's Apple bobbed back and forth as he swallowed nervously. I stood there in utter shock but refused to show it. I shouldn't be surprised. I've spent a lot of time with Jake and Shadow has been with me. His curiosity was bound to spike.
