Chapter 3

Honestly, there was no point in me getting changed. There's nothing to do, I'm just sitting here listening to them ramble crap. And even Callum seems bored too, seen as he is just staring into space.

"Babe, will you go and make us all some toast please? We're starving." Asks my dad and not even bothering to look at me.

"Sure..." I reply, sighing. As I look in the kitchen cupboard I realize there's no bread left. Got myself out of that job...

"Dad, there's no bread! Want me to go the shops?" I shout. Finally I can get out.

"Okay, thanks babe. See ya' in a bit." He replies. Then Keith butts in.

"Eh, Call, why don't you go with her so she's not on her own? Better than being stuck in with us." He says. "You can say that again..." I think to myself. But how awkward will this be? I don't know what to say... Ughhh! I don't know if its a good or bad thing that I'm gonna spend 20 minutes with my crush.

"Sure, I'll get my coat." Callum mumbles while smiling friendily at me. Maybe it won't be that bad. I watch him put his coat and start walking out, thinking of things to say while walking up. He runs out after me amd catches up, breathing heavily. I can't help but think about how gorgeous he is...

"Soo... I had to get out of there, haha." Laughs Callum. I look at his gorgeous, bright blue eyes. I smile and start to laugh along.

"Same, it was tourture." I say, trying not to make eye contact. Even more awkward that he seen me in my underwear and told me to start closing my door! But that wink was sexy. Unless he was joking, doubt it, though.

We walk into the shop together and I see a load of girls who all hang around Callum, it's obvious they all like him. They stare at me, giving me evils, glaring up and down at me. I notice one of them start to whisper. Maybe hey think we're together! I can't have that. We enter the fist isle as I feel all the breads, seeing which one was the freshest. There was an awkward silence.

"Hey, sorry about what happened, about us laughing at you when you came down." He says, I seemed kind of cool about it. I stop, my eyes widen. He is talking about the period blood... Oh god.

"Oh yeah... I had to make such a bad impression, didn't I? And I mean, I already looked awful as it is." I mumble, trying not to make it awkward and avoiding looking at him. He must think I'm a mess.

"Nah, you looked cute. It could happen to anyone, it's normal. Not as if your the only one having their period." He replies, smirking. How is he so okay with this? And also, did he just call me cute? That wasn't cute, that was a total disaster/mess/ugly clothed/meffy incident! I don't know what to do, I stop, my eyes widen.

"Shhh! And did you just call me...cute? Honestly, I'm in one of my worst states at the moment." I whisper. He looks at me straight away. I feel nervous.

"Worst states? At least you're not like them girls out there, fake tan, tons of makeup, blonde scraggy hair, trust me, I've seen worse than that Scarlett." Callum says, looking right at me. I don't know what to say, he doesn't like any of those girls? Wow, damn I must be cute. No seriously, this couldn't get anymore dreamy. My crush. Calling me cute. Okay, I'm dying. Suddenly, I knock a batch of freshly baked bread buns over causing them to fall all over me!

"Oh god! You okay? Here.'' Shouts Callum, holding his hand out to help me up. I grab it, starting to pick up the now broken, crummy buns. He helps me and I apologise to the woman on the counter. She seemed fine about it, and hopefully Callum didn't think I was a weirdo.

We start walking home with a loaf of bread. Even though I completely embarrassed myself, I think I done okay. I survived, that's for sure. Unfortunately, when I get home, Keith has his coat and boots on ready to go. I hope me and Callum stay friends...

"See you, Scarlett." Said Callum, smiling. The way he says my name is so cute! I wave back.

"T'ra Keith!" Shouts my dad. He has a bloody loud voice for a 52 year old... I'm kinda excited for tomorrow, I'll try to talk to Callum again. I can't wait to tell my friends about this!
