2 weeks later...

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. I'm excited, but not as much as used to be because my dad isn't here. He's okay, just not well enough to come home. I'm sitting wrapping presents on my own. The house feels dead. I'm not talking to my friends, nor Callum. We're all good, I'm just not talking.

After I'm finished wrapping presents, I make a Pot Noodle for my tea. There's nothing in, I haven't been motivated to move. I watch telly on the couch, eat my tea and I think. What am I going to do? It's Christmas in two days and I can't make a dinner, I can't be with my dad, I don't know what's happening. A tear rolls down my face, I feel totally useless. Ugh.

Suddenly, my phone rings. It's Callum.
"Hello?" I mumble. "Hey babe, you alright?"
"Not really. I feel useless and shitty..."
"Look. Why don't you come to mine tomorrow? I don't want you on your own, you're more than welcome here." My eyes widen. "Okay...thank you so much. I love you."
"I love you too" I end the call and fall asleep on the couch.

Christmas Eve...

I get up and it's 9am. I get a shower and get ready to go to Callum's. I wanna get there early, as I have nothing else to do. I put on a skirt, some jeans, converse, and a beanie. I get a bag and pack some pyjamas, put presents in and some other little stuff I'll need. I call a cab and wait in the living room. As I hear a beep outside, I grab my keys and open the door to a surprise. Snow! A smile forms on my face as this day is good, although my dad isn't here I can call him up and visit. There's snow. I'm spending Christmas with my boyfriend.

I arrive at Callum's, pay the cab, get out and run up to the door, trying not to slip. He opens the door and I swing my arms around him, burying my face into his chest. He kisses me on the head and we go inside. At Callum's, I just feel like I'm at home. I know I can go in and sit down, relax, get food whenever I want, watch whatever channel on the tv. I love it here.

I go upstairs to his room to put my bags in and fall back onto the bed, as soft as a cloud. My head sinks in to the memory foam mattress and I let out a sigh of relief. Thank God I had him, I wouldn't be able to do anything and my Christmas would be ruined. Callum knocks on the door and walks in. He lies down next to me and strokes the hair out of my face. "Thank you for letting me stay, it means a lot." I whisper with my eyes closed. "Anytime Scarlett."

We go downstairs to eat dinner and watch some tv. I curl up against Callum on the couch and my eyes flutter closed. I'm actually quite excited for Christmas now.

I wake up in Callum's bed, he's lying next to me asleep. He's adorable. I check the time- 2am. It's officially past midnight and it's Christmas. I smile, and lie back down to go to sleep.

Christmas Day...

I wake up, it's Christmas morning. Quickly, sitting up, wide eyed, I nudge Callum to wake him up. "It's Christmas! Merry Christmas!" I say. He sits up. "Merry Christmas." He smiles and kisses me. I throw on my dressing gown and we head downstairs.

"Good morning Keith, Happy Christmas." I yawn, hugging him.

I get a quick shower and get ready. Callum does too. My Christmas clothes consume of a black skirt, tights, boots, a shirt and jumper. I feel quite confident. I do my makeup, for once it looks amazing. I'm so proud of myself. Callum is wearing a shirt with skinny black jeans and a black denim jacket. He looks gorgeous. We head downstairs to help out with dinner. Keith and Callum look at each other and smile. What's going on?

"Oh god, we've got no butter. I've ran out. Scarlett, you don't mind popping down to Miss Marker's for me and asking if she has any spare to you?" Keith groans, still smiling.
"No worries, I'll be five minutes."

I grab my coat and walk down in the snow. It's sunny, but still snowy. I love it. I admire the grass, and the billings, covered in frost and blankets of snow. Miss Marker's pathway is covered perfectly, I don't even want to stand on it.

"Hello, Merry Christmas Miss Marker."
"Oh hello Scarlett! Merry Christmas love, can I help you?" She asks, still in her pyjamas.
"Yeah, do you have any butter?" I say, holding out a tub. "Keith needs some."
"Of course, I'll be one minute."

As I wait at the door I notice her house is a lot like mine. It makes me think of dad, the smell, the look, I miss him. "Here doll, happy Christmas."

I walk home as quick as I can, avoiding slipping in the street. I open the door and walk straight through to the kitchen. Laughing to myself, Christmas music is playing loudly in the living room with the door closed. "I'm back." I shout, no response. I put the butter in the fridge and walk towards the living room door. Turning the handle, the room is homely, warm and christmassy. Suddenly, my eyes fill with tears, my heart skips a beat. It's my dad, he's sitting on the couch. "Surprise!" Everyone shouts. I burst out crying and run over, squeezing him tightly. I don't want to let go.

"Dad I've missed you so much, are you okay? I love you, I'm so sorry for what happened." I cry into his shoulder. I've never missed him so much.
"It's okay Hun, honestly. I love you."

This really was a Christmas Miracle.
