Carla's POV
I hear his foot steps. "Please don't be drunk, please don't be drunk." My door slowly creaks open and I can feel someone sit on my bed the smell of liquor hits me immediately. I feel a rough hand on my arm and his breath on my ear. "I know your not asleep, because I told you to wait for me, now roll over and be a good girl and make this easy for both of us." I slowly rolled over and he crashed his lips onto mine.
BEEP BEEP BEEP! I'm awakened by the sound of the alarm and tossed out of my thoughts from last night. I look over to my alarm clock 6:45 am time to get up and start my senior year of school. I really despise school but at the same time it gets me away from this place called home for 8 hours of the day. I step into the warm shower trying to forget about last night activates. My father is a good man it's just the alcohol makes him do things he always regrets. He tells me all the time he's going to stop but most nights that never happens.
My father changed so much last year after my mother and older sister were killed in a car wreck. He didn't know how to act without mom around, my dad didn't even know how to pay a bill or buy groceries because mom always did that for us. I miss my mom and sister everyday. Me and mom were close, and so were me and my sister.
So let me tell you about myself, my name is Carla Smith, I'm 18 years old and finally in my senior year of school. I am a complete tom boy and will play any sport available. I love basketball, and I'm pretty good at it, I've been on the varsity team since I was in junior high and have had some college's look into me the past few years. A lot of schools have backed out since I'm only 5'1. Short girls cant play college ball apparently. Basketball, reading, and writing is my escape. I have been really depressed lately and have picked up some bad habits, but who wouldn't if you were in my shoes.
I turn the water off and get out of the shower, I dry my hair and put gel in it and spike it up. I get dressed in just jeans, t-shirt, Dallas Cowboy hoodie, and tennis shoes. I am not a girly girl. Never have been never will be. I'm the type of girl who would rather be fishing or bird hunting, going 4x4 mudding and playing football. I walk outside and get in my truck, at least my dad got me a vehicle this year so I don't have to spend my senior year on the bus.
When I get to school I go straight to my locker like always, I get my books ready for the day and put my gym bag in my locker. Some guys walked by and said, "Hey Carl, decided to try out for football this year, I mean come on we all know that you are a faggot, and want to be a boy." I just shake my head at the nickname the boys have given me, so now most of the school now calls me Carl. I continue to stare into my locker, I refuse to show any emotion, the nickname doesn't bother me as much as being called a faggot. I will admit yes I am a lesbian, but have never told a soul in this school, everybody just automatically assumes by my appearance. Then again I'm use to it.
I'm jolted out of my thoughts as I have severe pain running through my fingers. My hand has just been slammed between two lockers. When I look up I see my biggest enemy of the school smiling and starring at me, "Oh I am sorry Carl, didn't see your hands there." Becky says. I just shake my head and start off towards first period. I have shared a locker beside that bitch for 4 years now and mostly every day its the same routine. I swear one of these days I will knock her ass out cold. I start walking up stairs towards my first period class which is English. I would have to say its my favorite subject because there is a lot of writing involved and I can let loose a lot of anger and frustration in writing
I realize we still have like 10 minutes before the bell rings but what the hell It's better then being around all these dumbass people here. I walk into the classroom heading straight for the back, I enjoy sitting in the back not because I'm a horrible student, I get straight A's thank you! Just because if I get the furthest seat in the back 90% of the time I get left alone. As I make my way to the back, I hear someone say, "Well it's good to know I'll have at least one good student this year. This is my first day as the new English teacher. My name is Miss Young and you are."
I turned to answer, "My name is uh," Holy shit she is beautiful, here is a young lady no older than 22 or 23 staring at me, she's probably 5,7 long dark brown hair with piercing hazel eyes. "Carla, my name is Carla." Well so much for all the teachers around here being older than my grandmother, this school year just got very interesting.
