7: Attempt
It was a usual Saturday morning with the girls. We are currently making our way through the crowd of people in the mall, both side of our arms already occupied with shopping bags. Lenn especially, had the most bags out of all of us and it hasn't even been an hour since we started with this escapade.
Honestly, typical Lenn.
"Lenn? You sure you don't want to head back to the parking area? What are you going to do with the rest of your bags later?" Denise asked out of concern. Our situation is actually very laughable, who would have thought that shopping too much can be a concern?
"I'm hungry," Mhaii blurted, "Resto na tayo? Almost 12 na, ayaw kong maabutan tayo ng crowd at walang kainan na mapuntahan."
"I vote up," Sigaw ko, "Wala akong kinain eh, I sort of slept in."
"Alright," Sabi ni Kiko, "Ano? Japanese, Chinese, American? Or we can opt for Medi, a healthier option? I want to try the new salad buffet that just opened."
I was about to call out a cuisine when my eyes caught a familiar female figure. Along with her were three other people. It seems that Denise noticed that I was spacing out because along with her, the rest of the girls all turned towards the direction where I was looking.
"Oh, April," Reign said, dryly.
In contrast to what I was wearing, she looked great with only her black skinny jeans paired with a white loose blouse and her messy bun. She was wearing her sports shoes that not only completed her outfit, it complimented it. I suddenly wondered, were these the type of girls Yves would want to date? Girls whose beauty is emphasised by their simplicity?
"You know what, let's have traditional filipino please? I'm getting tired of foreign cuisines," Reign suggested. We unanimously agreed.
"You okay, Bree?" Kiko patted me at the back before rubbing it. I nodded in response, giving her a small smile.
To be honest, I wouldn't blame Yves if he suddenly decides to start liking April. If it was to happen someday, as it is very likely, it wouldn't seem so out of place and random.
I am obviously confident that I, if not prettier, am pretty as her, but the idea of beauty is subjective and Yves is a very unpredictable person. You wouldn't know what he's thinking. You can never see things in his perspective.
Girls probably, won't even need to wear expensive branded clothing. They might never need shirts and tops delivered from England, handbags from Paris, accessories from Tokyo and Make Up from Mac for Yves to like them. For someone like April who could confidently wear simple clothing when she goes out despite her wealth, is very admirable. It wouldn't be such a surprise if Yves do and would want to fall for girls like her.
Girls who are a complete 180 degrees turn of me.

The girls and I were almost complete with our shopping day. Our last store would be a shop where jeans were sold.
"You said you needed new ripped jeans," Mhaii spoke, pertaining to me, "Want me to help you pick?"
I nodded and told her I needed a white one. She picked at least six pieces of jeans all in different sizes from each type. I usually get the smallest size number that could possibly fit me so it would hug my legs and make it look long. So I chose the super skinny types out of the options she gave me.
