I turned my head as I realized that I totally stared at her. She was really pretty with her grey coloured hair that was put into a half bun. Her eyes were dark as they have met mine. She looked a little arrogant but it made her even more good looking.
I felt embarrassed that she caught me staring at her in the first place.
"She is Boston's twin sister", Amber told me. Great, so she saw me staring too. Now I really was embarrassed.
I looked over to Amber and made a questioning face so it looked like I didn't know who she meant.
Amber just smiled. "The new girl", she looked her way for a second before turning to me again.
"She is in my math class. She seems to be just like Boston a little cold and arrogant", she confirmed my first thought about the girl. I knew Boston, of course. Everyone knew him and the other three boys. They always hang around together. This group were the bad boys who every girl wanted to be with, in the hope to be the girl that could tame them. Amber and I weren't too fond of Boston and his friends. They were those kind of people you just don't want to mess around with. I heard rumors about them not only dealing with drugs but also with guns. Some told that they get into gunfights themselves and there also were a few people who said that they had something to do with the amount of forced prostitution in the city.
I obviously didn't know how much of this is true but I also wasn't too keen on finding it out.
Boston and Bastian were in a few of my classes so I knew that they really were distant and a little arrogant. I never had actual contact with them since they stayed in their group.
Suddenly the school bell rang so the pupils slowly started to get up and walk into the school. Amber and I also got up to walk to the changing rooms so we could change for sports.
I changed into some dark grey shorts, a black sports bra and a white tank top.
I put my long dark hair into a pony tail and changed my flats into some blue Nikes.
Amber wore some yoga pants with a pink tank top.We grabbed our water bottles and walked outside to the sports field. We sat down on the grass waiting for the other pupils of our grade to come outside.
We talked a little bit about all and nothing when our sports teacher came to the group that got bigger every second. He was tall and had way to many muscles.
My gaze was pulled away from him when I saw Boston and his group walking over to us. They all wore sports cloths and behind them walked the new girl from earlier today. As if she was feeling my gaze on her, her eyes met mine leaving me look away embarrassed again.
She wore also black sports shorts and a dark red shirt. Her hair were pulled up into a messy bun.
I could feel her eyes on me since she didn't look away but I managed to hold my gaze on our teacher who now put his whistle between his lips.
The shrill sound quieted all the conversation so our attention was laid onto him.
"I want you to run four laps after that the girls will play volleyball and the boys basketball", he demanded staring us down. Our school was quite sportive so we had big gym halls inside and a football, volleyball and basketball field outside. Next to it was also a big field with grass where the cheerleaders often had their training. All around these fields were galleries where people could watch the games.
We didn't really move so he blew in his whistle again. "Now!"
Everyone got up and started to run the laps. It wasn't that hard for me since I've trained a lot with the cheerleaders last year but thanks to the sun and the hot weather I started to sweat really hard.Suddenly a girl passed me and even though I only saw her backside I recognised the grey coloured bun. I was quite fast and I wondered how she could be able to run even faster than I did. I saw her long legs moving with perfect gracefulness and she reminded me on a leopard who is running after his prey.
What the heck? What was I thinking? Why did I even catch myself staring at her all the time?
I shook my head and concentrated back on my every step I made. My breath got heavier but I didn't slow down until I've done the four laps the coach wanted to see from us.
When I was finally done, I picked up my bottle with water and drank something. The cold liquid soothed my dry throat. I met with Amber when she was done with her laps and we walked over to the volleyball field.
The sand was soft beneath my shoes as I walked in front of the net since I was quite good at smashing.
Suddenly the new girl stood in front of me on the other side of the net. The game started and I always caught myself staring at her. Something about her was fascinating me but I couldn't exactly say what it was.
When we were done with the game I felt eyes on me. I slowly turned around and saw a pair of blue eyes meeting with mine.
Karter. His gaze slowly fell down to his feet looking kind of defeated. I felt sorry for him even though I definitely shouldn't. Then my eyes went further meeting another pair. This time they were dark. Boston was also staring at me. His face was straight and looked kind of dark as if he was angry with me.
As quick as I could I looked away not wanting to make him any angrier.
"Hey, Lil, let's go!", Amber called me over to walk with her back into the changing rooms since sports class was over now.
I followed her and we got our stuff to go home then because this has been our last class.
