After we had cleaned up the lipstick mess Brooke and I decided to go inside and have some fun. We drank and talked and danced. After a while Amber found us and danced with us. It was a great night. I could see Boston a few times but he didn't look like he had much fun. People came to him a few times and went away again after exchanging things in their hands. I wasn't stupid, I knew that he dealt with drugs but he didn't really concentrate on his business. His eyes were fixed on a guy I didn't know who was drinking and talking to a lot of girls. He had black hair and was very tall which made him stand out a little. His crystal blue eyes seemed cold and a shudder ran down my spine.
I pulled my eyes off him to look at my best friend and next to her the girl I liked. I would like to say my girlfriend but I had no idea whether we were official after what happened earlier or not. I just knew that that kiss was great and for the first time I meant it when I said I was over Karter.
They both had a drink in their hands and laughed together. I was glad that they liked each other and I smiled taking a sip of my own beer. I didn't like the taste but I was already tipsy enough to not care anymore.
Suddenly someone bumped into me and I stumbled forward into Brooke. She was able to catch me but couldn't keep her own balance and started to fall backwards. In the next second the falling stopped and I could hear a deep voice over the louder music. „Careful girls"
The guy I watched earlier had caught Brooke and I from falling. He placed us back on our feet and send a smug smile towards us. „We don't need your help, Keith, thank you very much", Brooke sounded cold and I think a little bit angry while she brushed his hands of.
The black haired guy whose name was Keith put his hands up in defense. „Hey, I just stopped you from falling, little angel, keep calm."
„Is there a problem?", another raspy voice said behind me. I turned and saw Boston standing only a few inches away from me. His grey eyes fixed on Keith with a hard look on his face.
„No problem at all", Keith smiled and I felt sick. This guy didn't seem good at all.
„Little angel", he nodded towards Brooke as if saying goodbye. Then he turned around and vanished in the crowd.
„Uhh... who was that?", came my question towards Brooke. Her face seemed angry and Boston still had that frozen look upon his face. I looked at Amber who seemed to be just as confused as me.
„He's a dick", Brooke answered vaguely and took a sip from her drink. „Whatever", she just said and went back to move her hips. Boston still stood next to me and when the eyes of the siblings met Brooke moved hers to tell him to leave. They still weren't back on good terms after Brooke found out about his not being gay opinion. It honestly hurt me since it hurt her. She didn't show it but I knew.
Boston huffed but he moved back to his usual spot.
I also started to move my hips again. „I'll go to the toilet real quick!", Amber told me over the music and before I could even nod she was gone.
I moved closer to Brooke and she smiled at me which send some bubbles through my body. We danced for another half an hour but then it seemed like her eyes couldn't focus on me anymore and she started to loose her balance a little.
I caught her on her arm. „Hey, are you alright?", I asked her worried.
She nodded but that made it worst and she pressed her eyes close and breathed hard. „Do you mind if we go outside a second?" She was still standing there trying to concentrate on herself. „No, of course not", I immediately answered and started to slowly pull her through the crowd of now more and more drunk people. I was sure that Brooke would be alright outside since it probably just was the alcohol affecting her.
We reached the backyard but I didn't stop instead I kept going further until there was nearly no-one left close enough to notice us.
I turned to Brooke to look at her. „Better?", I questioned, carefully holding her by her shoulders.
„No", she whispered barely audible and the next second her knees gave in and I wasn't strong enough to hold her up. She fell onto her knees and I fell with her. I didn't care about the pain in my knee which had hit a stone or about my white dress getting dirty, all I cared about was Brooke who looked awful. Her face was really pale and her eyes didn't focus on anything and sometimes rolled backwards. Before I could analyze anything else, she fell over onto her hands and started to vomit. I was shocked but I handled quickly. I pulled her hair out of her face, rubbed her back and whispered little nothings into her ear to calm her down.
I've been to many parties when I was popular and I've seen many people vomit because of alcohol but this was definitive something different.
Brooke didn't seem to stop vomiting and when she finally didn't have anything left inside of her she kept gagging for a while.
Her hands were clawed into the grass underneath her and when it eventually was over she looked like she would faint any second.
This was definitely not the three or four cups beer she had drunk, this was way worse.
I thought about taking my phone and call Amber for help but she probably wouldn't even hear it ringing. I quickly looked around and then I recognized a boy from my school a few feet away talking to a girl. „Hey, you!", I yelled as loud as I could right now. Panic had made its way inside me and started to close up my throat. The boy looked at me and the nearly unconscious Brooke I now held up. „Get Boston, now!", I yelled again.
The boy seemed to be sober or at least sober enough to understand the situation and ran back inside the house.
Before I could do anything else, Brooke's strength broke completely and I caught her before she fell into her own vomit. I pulled her into my arms and held her close as she fell unconscious.
Hey guys,
