One week went by since the first day of school.

Besides some stares Karter left me alone and I was having a good time with Amber. Well, as much as a good time you can have when you're in school but still.

Life seemed way easier now than last year.

Most of the pupils ignored me and those who didn't, got ignored by me.

Apart from Amber there was only one person who I didn't ignore.

The new girl.

As you can see I still don't know her name even though I caught myself staring at her way too often. I tried to stop it but I just couldn't.

She always hung around with her brother and his friends. In the breaks often having a cigarette between her lips breathing out smoke that matched her hair colour.

Now I sat here in the theatre hall waiting for Mrs Devon to tell us about the play.

I auditioned last Wednesday just like she wanted it but of course Riley got the role since I didn't even actually try to be good.
I wasn't bad either but Riley was better.

I'm pretty fine with that since Karter got to play Romeo.

I was glad that Amber and I had the same job now. We both worked on the scenery of the stage. Which means that we were those who worked hours and hours on building and colouring a balcony and other stuff for the play.

Mrs Devon went up the few stairs on the side of the stage to stand there in the middle.

"So... Now that everyone from English and theatre class is here, I am so excited to get this project started", she told us proudly. We were about thirty people now what was quite a lot for a drama group.

"And I am also really excited to introduce you your director of the play. Of course I will assist and support her however she came here from a school with one of the best drama groups so she knows what she does", Mrs Devon told us and I could see how she nearly started jumping around out of excitement.

"Brooke will be your director!", she told us, pride swinging in her voice.

All gazes fell on the girl who sat a few seats next to me. A little smirk sat on her face as she ignored the looks that she got from everyone.

Brooke. That was her name.

The smirk seemed to touch her eyes as their brown colour sparkles.

Again I had to shove myself to stop staring at her beauty.

I managed to bring my eyes back to Mrs Devon who still stood on the stage.
"You were already told what your jobs are so I guess we don't have to go any further today and you all can go home now", she smiled at us.

Some people cheered and already got up. Before everyone was out of the door we could still hear our teachers voice. "Next meeting is on Wednesday as you know and I want to see everyone. Everyone!", she underlined. Of course there were a few people from the English lesson who weren't that excited about working on a drama play.

Amber and I also got up and walked out of the door. We said our goodbyes as we parted to walk to our cars.

Right that second I got to my little Mini I heard a voice behind me.

"Hey, Lilian right?" Her voice was soft but a little deeper than mine.

I turned around and my eyes met grey ones. A beautiful smile was on her pretty face.

"Yeah", I answered after my brain caught that she actually asked me a question.
"I wanted to ask, if we could talk about what I imagine for a scenery", she told me still smiling.

"Uhm ... Sure?", I told her irritated.
Her smile turned a little into a smirk. "Okay... So can I come over to yours at six?", she asked with self-confidence.

I just nodded since my voice seemed to have stopped working.

"Great", she stated and then turned around to walk away.

"Wait!", I called her. "You don't know where I live."

She didn't stop instead she looked back to me over her shoulder.

"My brother knows", she said again with that smirk. Then she looked back forward and walked away completely this time.

I'm not quite sure but I think that I stood there for at least five minutes.

Finally I turned around and got into my car and drove home slowly.

It was three o'clock when I got there so I had three hours left until Brooke would come over.

Why did she even want to talk with me. Because of the scenery obviously. But she could have talked about that with everyone else out of our team. However she chose me. That didn't have a specific reason, did it? No, I'm sure it didn't.

"Mom?", I yelled into the house. Nothing came back so I supposed she was still at work just like my dad.

After throwing away my backpack and my shoes I walked into the kitchen to grab an apple.

Then I walked through the big penthouse to my room.

Yes, you've heard right. Penthouse. My parents had quite much money since they were working all day. I was alone pretty much of the time but I was alright with that.

I climbed up the few stairs that led up on a white platform where a mattress lay as my bed. My room was held in white and pastel colours and it was really big. My parents gave the biggest room of the penthouse to me in an attempt to apologise for being away all the time without really apologising.

I lay down on my bed and closed my eyes for a second as tiredness overwhelmed me.
