Chapter 16

Day 1

"FUCK"

You cussed rather loudly as you looked at your underwear after getting up. Yes, it was that time of the month and you really couldn't be bothered to be dealing with it.

"Stupid nature! Thanks for this! I mean it's not like I haven't lost enough blood over the past week anyway! Arghh!"

You unlocked the bathroom door and looked over to your bed. "Oh for the love of God do not be on the sheets".

You went over to your Snow White bed sheets and lifted the duvet up and sighed in relief when there were no red marks to be seen on it.

You then heard a knock on you door and told whoever it was that it was open. Pfft 'whoever it was' of course you knew who it was going to be.

"Are you alright? I could hear you from the other room"

You watched the blonde haired man walk over to you and you stood up straight to greet him with a hug.

"Yeah I'm fine aha just that time again". You smiled and looked up at him only to be greeted with a confused face.

"What?" He questioned you obviously confused by your previous sentence.

"Oh Cloud... You know err girl problems.... Once a month..." You didn't want to explain properly so you said bits that would hint to him.

You heard a noise of realisation from the taller man as he got what you were talking about and you nodded at him. You could tell he was now feeling awkward, "don't worry Cloud you'll just have to be extra nice to me all week hahah"

He smiled at you, "oh? Is that right dear girlfriend of mine". He pulled you into a tighter hug with his arms around you keep waist.

"Yes dear boyfriend of mine it is". You both chuckled and he gave you a peck on the lips and pulled away from the hug and walked towards the door.

"I'll be outside if you need me. I have to adjust some things on fenrir".

You nodded, "okay Cloudy", and with that he exited the room.

You had remained in your room for the majority of the day because of your stomach cramps that finally decided to kick in. Sometimes they could get so bad that you couldn't even stand up properly.

You were currently curled up in a ball and wrapped up in a blanket, your eyes fixed on the window as you watched the occasional bird fly past.

You had to say this was one of the worst experiences of your life so far. Being in pain because of your stomach and your bullet wound and not being allowed to do anything because of your injury just made the current situation even more gloomy.

You breathed a deep sigh and sat up holding your burning middle. You then suddenly remembered a little melody that you had been taught when you were a child to help you fall asleep.

You sang a little bit of it while continuing to gaze out of the window.

"Soshite bouya wa nemuri ni tsuita, ikidzuku haino naka no honou,
Hitotsu, futatsu to...."

"I didn't know you could sing (y/n)". You span around in surprise at the voice and stared into deep blue eyes.

"Uhhh errr yeah ahah ummm...." You were now extremely embarrassed at the fact that Cloud had managed to walk in on you singing to yourself without you noticing.

He walked hover to you and sat next to you. "Your voice is beautiful" he said hushed but still audible. You blushed madly at his comment and mumbled a 'thank you' to him.

"The only person that's ever heard me sing that is Zack".

"Really?"

"Yeah.. I'd sing it whenever I was upset or lonely and it just so happened that it was a lullaby as well. Which was handy coz Zack's always been way too hyper for me hahah"

Cloud watched you, out of the corner of his eye, as you spoke and it made him smile.

Your stomach pains had faded slightly when you were singing but now they were back, and with a vengeance.

You groaned at the pain and flopped yourself back down in a ball into your side with your back facing Cloud and he looked quite worried at your actions.

You felt the bed shift behind you and a hand was placed in front of your face and you looked up to see that he had moved closer to you and was, in fact, hovering over the top of you.

"What is it?"

"Stomach cramps", you complained back at him in a childish manner but who could blame you. They killed!

He laid down behind you and wrapped his arms carefully around you and placed one of them on your stomach.

"I'd rather get shot again than have to deal with these things every month for the rest of my life..." You moaned some more, but Cloud just listened to you.

"Thank you Cloud"

"For what?"

"Being... Being you and being here and for loving me"

He didn't really know how to respond so he just kissed the back of your head and that was all the conformation you needed.

So, I'm gonna be doing a chapter per day of this so 7 chapters in total for the time of the month part hahaha.
