I fell backwards onto my back as Delilah pulled the chair out from below me. She burst out laughing and I sighed, laying on the floor and staring up at the ceiling. Hunter was on my mind, and he wouldn't leave. I recalled the day before. If only I hadn't lost to him at the racing game, I wouldn't have kissed him, and we wouldn't have been caught by his grandma. I turned red just at the thought of it. I was in shock about his very own grandma catching us. I was even more shocked by the fact that she didn't mind. But then, of course, my mind trailed off to the kiss we shared. It was irresistible. Maybe I should call him or─
"Skye, what are you looking at?" Delilah asked, turning to look up at the ceiling. Her eyes were wide and curious, as usual. I couldn't help but smile a little at her expression.
"Oh, nothing, Deli. Just thinking about a silly boy." I explained. Delilah's eyes grew even wider.
"A boy?" She gasped in a whisper voice, slowly leaning in as I had caught her attention. I nodded to her in response and she sat down next to me. I still hadn't cared to sit up, I was still laying on the floor in the same position I fell in. It was Sunday, my most laziest of all days. Days I spent thinking.
"What's he like?" Delilah asked soon after.
"Huh? Oh the boy? Well," I began to think of Hunter. I didn't respond for a while, but then I knew the perfect thing to say. "he's just very... Stupid." I concluded with a smirk.
"What? Why?" She asked.
"Dont question me, child!" I said with a grin as I got to my feet. I gently ruffled her hair and she attempted to slap my hand away, but I was too quick. Just then, as I was taking my leave from the living room, my phone began to ring. I slightly jumped with surprise before actually answering.
"...Hello?" I spoke, my voice sheepish.
"Hey." It was him. That voice. It could only be Antonio. He must have had gotten my number somehow.
"Antonio? How do you know this is my number?" I asked suspiciously.
"I snuck on to Hunter's phone." He said.
"But, that's not the question here. Skye, I'd like to ask you on another 'date', but this time to the amusement park down near campus." He proposed.
"Oh, really?" I grinned.
"Yup." He chuckled.
"Well, I don't see why not!" I answered.
Big.
Mistake.
Five hours later I found myself at the amusement park, meeting up with Antonio. We had just gotten our tickets, and we were entering the park area. I noticed unlike Hunter, Antonio wore a coat. Well, actually, unlike basically every common city person, Hunter didn't wear a coat.
"It's quite chilly today, isn't it?" Antonio asked, gazing up at the sunny sky.
"Yup. I'm just glad the snow melted. I was getting sick of my mom begging me to shovel every day." I laughed. Then, Antonio suddenly took my hand. I hesitated and suddenly Hunter's appearance flashed in the back of my mind, but I ignored it and intertwined fingers with Antonio. Hunter's image faded, and I felt like my heart did as well. With a rueful smile, I looked at Antonio and pecked a kiss onto his cheek. He looked a bit surprised at first, but his expression melted into his own smile.
Big.
Mistake.
Antonio and got onto a ride. A rollercoaster, to be exact. It was full of loops, turns, and twists. It made my stomach turn just looking at it, but Antonio was excited for it. I sat next to him and looked at him nervously. He looked back with a reassuring smile. Before the ride began, he kissed my forehead. My heart skipped a beat. The guy that I had liked for a long time was finally with me, his lips on me.
Had. Had liked me. I didn't pay attention to that though. I somehow didn't notice that he quite obviously want the one that my heart belonged to.
Big.
Mistake.
After hours of laughter and screaming on rides, it was dark out. At only seven o'clock, the sky was a deep midnight hue. Antonio and I had just gotten onto a Ferris wheel, and there was barely anyone there. Just a few couples. Children had deserted the park, and it was all teenagers and adults. I walked to our little enclosed cubed-shaped seats, and Antonio sat across from me. Seconds later, the ride began moving.
"Skye." Antonio called my name as we lifted into rotation. I turned my attention to him.
"Huh? What is it?" I asked.
"I'm sorry I was just a douchebag." He sighed, averting his gaze. I felt a little thankful for his apology and I smiled.
"It's alright." I said.
No, no it was not alright, I knew that yet I ignored it. I was just happy that Antonio was finally paying attention to me.
"I actually have reeally started liking you." He admitted.
"I liked you for a long time." I confessed as well.
"Really? I'm sorry, I've never noticed." He said. He must have been blind or deaf he 'didn't notice'.
We reached the top of the rotation, above everyone. I gasped sharply as I looked down. The sight was breathing-taking. Red yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, all sorts of lights blurred together below us.
"Skye." I turned to face Antonio and the second I did, he smashed his lips against mine.
And I was fine with it.
Big.
Mistake.
