I laid my cheek onto the café's table and stared at my coffee cup. My eyes crept up the café's pale yellow wall, to the clock. Only two o'clock?
I let out a heavy sigh and shut my eyes. Then, something suddenly tapped my head.
"Hey! Get your head out of the clouds, Skye! I'm talking to you!" Charlotte's voice rang into my ears. I lazily lifted my head up to meet her gaze. "Mmm?" I grumbled.
"I said your hair's in your coffee!" She said harshly. My eyes immediately shot to my coffee cup, and as she had told me, my hair was in it. I gasped and quickly swept the strand of hair behind my ear.
"No, no, you idiot! Now it's just dripping to the other parts of your hair!" She cried, her German accent clear.
I sighed again and took the coffee-soaked strands of hair and grabbed a napkin, desperately trying my best to clean it.
"I'd cry if I got my hair in coffee." Charlotte exaggerated. I smiled faintly at her words.
"Of course you would." My eyes fell to her silky platinum blond hair. Charlotte noticed me eyeing her beautiful hair and grinned proudly. "I combed it for an entire four hours this morning!" She beamed.
My jaw nearly hit the table when it dropped. "Four hours!?" I cried, attracting attention. I looked around to the others, glaring at me for my tone.
"Sorry, sorry." I forced a shameful smile and turned back to Charlotte, my face red with embarrassment.
Charlotte briefly giggled but soon met my harsh gaze, abruptly stopped, and coughed nervously.
I slumped in my chair and stared at the celing like a kid. "Winter break ends tomorrow, you know?" Charlotte suddenly spoke.
I turned to look back at her and nodded. "Yeah. Break was too short."
I sighed, shutting my eyes again."Hey, hey, sit up straight!" Her voice suddenly lowered to a quick whisper.
"Huh? Wh-" She quickly interrupted me.
"It's Antonio you dumbass!" I ignored her name calling and brought myself to sit properly, my shoulders back and my spine straight. Charlotte's eyes quickly shot to her left and back to me.
"Here he comes!" My body froze up and I stared at Charlotte, waiting for Antonio's presence.
"Hello ladi- Oh? Charlotte? Skye? I didn't know you guys come here!" He said my name! Antonio's heavenly Italian accent flowed into my ears and I stared up at him in awe, my mind blank.
"But of course we do, this is the most popular café in Arcadia!" Charlotte laughed. I couldn't tear my eyes away from Antonio. Almost six feet tall, his partial pony tail bobbing as he nodded to Charlotte with a smile. He was dressed in a sexy black suit, appearing to be a uniform, holding a small notepad and pen.
"I guess so." Antonio chuckled and turned to me, his beautiful hazel eyes meeting my boring green eyes. "Well, I work here and I'll be your waiter for today. May I take your order?" He asked me politely.
I felt my heart freeze as I felt his gaze bore into me. My prince in shining armor is talking to me! I looked over to Charlort for a split second for reassurance, and she gave me a small smile. I coughed nervously and looked back up at Antonio.
"I- I think I'll have a- um..." My voice hesitated and wavered with nervousness. As my mind raced, I quickly looked up at Antonio, whom was waiting patiently as if there was no such thing as time. I then glanced to Charlotte for help, as my hands were beginning to sweat.
