I buried my face into my plain white pillow, my legs and arms spread out crazily. I laid in bed the way a dead man would lay on the ground.

I groaned when I realized I had school but at least it was Friday. I rolled over onto my back and stared up at the ceiling and contemplating my recent life decisions.

Things were going rocky with the guys. Antonio hated me and Hunter was still a bit distant. I was a bit relieved I was through with Antonio, but I was still worried about the relationship between Hunter and I.

Would he take me back? Could he ever really forgive me? Questions popped in my mind like bubbles left and right. I forced laughed and shook my head. I'm ridiculous.

Charlotte and I walked to school together, chatting about guys, of course. The weather was beginning to warm up, but my mom still made me wear the treacherous making-me-look-like-a-penguin coat. Charlotte, on the other hand, had a long tan coat and like most girls in high school, she wore uggs on her feet. The wind blew my black hair in a messy way, smacking my face and maybe even Charlotte a couple times.

"Selfie!" Charlotte suddenly took her phone out and snapped a photo before I could react. We stopped walking and looked over her phone, examining the photo.

I looked at her first. She looked magnificent. She looked like a model, like a movie-star, like a princess, like the flawless German girl she was.

Then, I looked at myself.

I looked like a worm with down syndrome.

"Ooh! You look so cute, you should post it!" Charlotte smiled, beginning to walk again.

"I already have the caption: 'When you're the ugly friend'." I said, laughing. Charlotte looked at me and burst out laughing as well and I just stared at with a goofy grin. She was the reason I was smiling. At least things were alright with her.

The morning progressed like any other in terms of how Hunter was towards me. Ignoring my eye contact, his responses to my questions and comments very short and not descriptive at all. I wasn't used to it. I was missing the energized, laughing, smiling Hunter I knew before. Before I messed everything up. To be honest, I was even missing that smooth, rather perverted side of him, but there was no way I could possibly admit that even to myself.

When lunch period began, the intercom was used, and the principal called for Charlotte to pack her things up. I looked at her, confused as she began to hastily grab her books and binders off her desk.

"I forgot to tell you, I have a doctor's appointment." She informed me rather lately.

"'Forgot'? When will you be back?" I asked, growing a bit concerned

"I don't think I'll be back for school, but can see you after school. Sorry!" Charlotte apologized nervously. I sighed and banged my head onto my desk with disturbance. Less than a second later I felt pain and I immediately regretted it. Charlotte then took her leave and I was alone.

I sat at my desk with my cold lunch. I looked over at Hunter, who was also alone. He didn't have a lunch. After building up courage, I got up and moved my desk next to his. Still a bit shy, I didn't look at him at all when I moved my seat.

"Huh? What are you doing?" Hunter asked, his voice low.

"M... Moving my desk next to yours." I said, slightly stuttering. When I sat down I felt my leg briefly brush against his and I felt my face heat up. I quickly shuffled my feet, inching them away from his, making sure it wouldn't happen again. I looked him in the eyes and for once, he was staring right back at me. Unfortunately, this wasn't for long, and he turned his head away as soon as we locked eyes. Nervous, I tried my best to make conversation.
