Chapter 26

Time continued to go by slowly as the group tried to take care of the injured. The incubi had invaded many times in the dream realm and many times a lot of students were injured. While many were strong and able to defend themselves against the attacks, they still did not leave the battles unscathed. Though one act surprised them all in the end of the final fight. Kuroi, fought back against the incubi and sealed them away once again with the help of his brother.  Kuroi was badly injured as some of his classmates helped him back into the portal. Jay chose to stay in the dream realm just a bit longer, walking to the dead bodies of the incubi soldiers that littered the once colorful ground. He was searching for the one who had taken Yume's eye and knowing them they would try to keep it with them as if to torment her on seeing her people slaughtered before her. When he found the soldier with the eye fully intact he placed it in a box carefully before returning through the portal once again.

In the aftermath of it all, life at the school slowly went back to how it was despite the traumatized students. Eventually the dream eaters returned to their world as well once it has been repaired by the dreams they had consumed from the many students. To make up for the horrible time, the students were brought to different places. Some to travel else where in the country or visit their homes, some to travel with a circus or live in a forest. And a majority ended up staying at a beach resort with the whole place reserved just for them. While Kit was happy to be near her home she also had a look of sadness on her face. This was the last place she ever saw her childhood friend before he had disappeared, while she had a smile on her face playing with her friends and taking some students underwater her smile did not reach her eyes. When others had asked her about it she brushed it off doing something else to distract them. On the shore there was a red haired male staring at the sea with a sad look in his eyes, watching it for something or someone. A sign that they were alive but let out a soft sigh as he took out a pack of cigarettes and lit up only one.

It was silent despite the waves crashing against the sand before receding again. "I really miss you Vix..." he sighed softly staring at the sea as if he was talking to someone. "It's been years but... it's been lonely... I hope you-" he was cut off when he heard an annoying shout from behind him heading in his direction. Glancing over he saw that it was Nick, having know each other through Tenshi. He was yelling at him at how he should leave since the whole beach was reserved for the class trip. Waving him off he started heading back till he bumped into a brown haired girl.  "Sorry." she said as he was about to brush it off and blinked confused when he looked at her. Kit stared back at him as well thinking he looked familiar till they both saw what each other had. He had the bracelet made of sea shells that she had made personally and she the necklace with a moon pendant. "That necklace... I gave that to Vix..." he said softly staring at it. Hearing that nickname she glared and quickly walked away from him. "The only one who could call me that nickname is Kuma. No one else."

"No one has called me Kuma in a long time..." the thought outloud staring after Kit, deciding to stay on the beach anyway despite Nick's glares at him to leave. He sat on a rock watching the sea again ignoring the sounds of other students playing around. When a familiar sound began to fill the air he froze, recognizing the melody that he could hear. He hadn't heard it in so long that just hearing it again reminded him of his childhood friend who he thought had died. When Nick had walked over again to try to get him to leave he froze at the cold look he was receiving from the red head. "Are you fucking with me? Where'd you hear this huh? Did angelboy say something to you? If this is a joke this sure as hell isn't funny." Nick stared at him confused yet annoyed, "Tenshi hasn't told me anything, and I sure as hell don't care to know if it involves you. Now leave." he said growing more annoyed. Sensing the growing tension between the two, the said angel tried to break up the fight between them. "Look Akuma." the white haired male said soon having the glare turned on him instead of his brother. "Vix is dead Tenshi! Dead!" he shouted surprising the two since he doesn't normally shout, "I only came here to visit her so the memories will stop haunting me!" his hands clenched into fists as his rage began to boil over. Markings hidden under his clothes began to glow faintly due to his aura becoming violent till he overheard both Mitsuki and Kanota talking.

"Kit sometimes was called Vix but when someone called her that... She'd lash out... She badly injured a few students who didn't take her seriously when she told them not to call her that..." Kanota explained as he listened, "She said only...her childhood friend could call her that." as Mitsuki nodded in agreement. "She's been looking for him since she came to the school, but it's starting to take a toll on her too." he looked over at them and asked as his markings glow began to fade, "You said Vix... is she... really quiet? Shy around others... kind of soft spoken and kind..?" as Tenshi grimaced at Akuma getting his hopes up. He really didn't want to see him hurt in any way, after he headed towards the cove that was still on the beach, Tenshi began to question the two girls though he did have a hunch they were right. Akuma and Kit just didn't recognize each other, that's what at least Tenshi thought but he still didn't want either one of them hurt emotionally.

At first both Akuma and Kit didn't recognize the other while talking quietly. Of course when they did they felt happy to see each other once again, quickly trying to catch up on what the other had been up to over the years they were separated. When the two had exited the cove not only were two childhood friends were reunited but a couple was also formed as well.

Got lazy at the end of this, I've been writing this for three days already. After the next one will be a Valentines day chapter!
