"Hi" I said smiling innocently. A smirk crept onto his features spending a shiver down my spine. There was the sound of a car pull into the driveway making us both look over. A man got out of the car.
"Hi. I'm looking for Hayley" he said and I looked at him puzzled before I realized who he was.
"Danny?" I asked with wide eyes.I stood there staring at my older brother. It was like time had stopped. I couldn't believe it. He was actually still alive after all those years. Danny smiled and shoved his hands into his coat pockets. He simply smiled as the snow began to fall. Part of me wanted to go and hug him but the other half told me to stay where I was standing.
Danny's dark brown hair was neatly styled and he was wearing nice clothing. A black jacket and tan colored pants with brown winter boots. His icy blue eyes seemed warm and welcoming. He must have met somebody.
"You look different" I said finally finding words.
"So do you" Danny said smiling showing off his white teeth.
Soon we were inside and Lisa was pouring Danny a fresh cup of hot chocolate. Chris was sitting next to me in the kitchen as Danny sat across from me beside Scott. Scott shifted uncomfortably in his seat. I took a sip of my hot chocolate and stared into Danny's blue eyes.
"I've missed you, Hayley" he said smiling kindly at me as he lifted his hot chocolate towards his lips.
"I've missed you too" I said.
"I want you to come back to Maine with me. I have a nice house. I have a backyard that you can play in. I also have a dog" Danny said.
"Good for you" I mumbled.
"So will you come with me? I'm the only family you have left" he said. Right there was when I snapped.
"Where have you been?!" I hissed making Chris and Scott surprised by my sudden burst.
"In Maine" he said.
"Doing what?" I asked.
"Doing what every guy does. Getting a job. Earning money. Living in a house" he said.
"I'm not going with you Danny" I said.
"Why not?" He asked confused.
"I barely know you anymore. Plus I already have a home" I said standing up with tears in my eyes.
"We can change, Hayley" he said.
"No. It's too late for that" I said leaving the room and running up the stairs. He can't just show up in my life and ask if I wanted to come home with him. I kicked off my shoes and shut my bedroom door loudly. I collapsed onto the soft bed and buried my face in my pillow. The sound of a car door slamming shut and a car driving away made me look out the window to see Danny driving away in anger. He should understand what I've been through. My door creaked open and I looked over to see Chris entered my room. He gave me a small smile. I rushed over to him as fast as I could and hugged him tightly. I buried my face into his warm chest as he rubbed my back.
"I told him to leave" Chris said.
"Thank you" I said crying a little bit.
"You're welcome. He shouldn't have even come here" he said.
"How did even find the house?" I asked. This stumped Chris.
"I don't know" he said wondering the same question that I had asked him.
"Let's find out" I said as the two of us left my room and rushed down the stairs. Chris picked up his phone and called his agent. I sat with Scott in the living room as Chris talked to his agent in the other room. It worried me to know how Danny knew where I was. How did he know?
