New Girl In The City

Chapter 23.

You must have heard "Expect the unexpected." Many people say this. We have read it in the books,magazines etc. But do we really understand it's meaning. Aman has heard and read this many times. But now as he is driving to the hospital to check if his mom is alive or not he now knows what exactly it mean.

He knows what Allah does is for a reason. And for the best reason and that he should trust him. But now it's really difficult for him to do so. His mom is his everything. He cannot live without her. All he is doing now is praying continuously for her. Begging Allah to keep her safe. Finally after fifteen minutes of drive he reached the hospital.

As he was making his way to the hospital he remembered when kehara called.

"Your mom is in the hospital."

"What? Kehara what do you mean?" Aman started panicking.

"Aman don't ask questions just come fast to the city hospital. Don't worry about Noor she is with me And please inform your dad."

"But what happened kehara? What happened to my mom? Where is she? " 

"In the ICU. Come fast Aman I will tell you everything."

"I'm coming."

Aman left the house right that second. He is not even sure if he locked the house properly. But now he don't care even if he left the door wide open.

Aman called kehara to ask where to come and she said third floor. He entered the elevator. For the first time in his life he felt that the elevator works too slow. He finally reached the third floor. He remember her saying take left from the elevator and come straight. He followed her instructions. After few seconds he saw kehara and Noor.

"Kehara! What happened?"

Before kehara could reply Noor ran to him and hugged him. She was crying.

"Noor. Noor listen to me. Everything will be fine. She is going to be fine. She is a fighter. She will never leave us." Instead of stopping she cried even more.

"Noor. Kid I'm here. Nothing will happen. She will come out and kill me for making you cry so much. Please stop." Noor looked up and asked.

"You promise she will be fine?"

"I promise. Now stop crying and tell me what happened?"

Noor looked at kehara indicating her to say for her. Kehara nodded and said

"So as you know we went for shopping. We met you mom in a cafe. So we decided to go home together. Noor was crossing the road and she didn't realise there was a car coming in her direction in full speed. So in order to save her You mom went running to her and push her but was unable to move before the car hit her."

"Tell him the truth kehara!"

"What do you mean Noor? This is the truth."

"No it is not! Tell him the truth!" Noor screamed.

"Noor calm down and kehara please tell the truth." Aman tried to control the situation.

"I don't know what she is talking Aman! This is the truth!" Kehara said a bit loud.

"No! The truth is mom was telling me to wear the jacket and as usual I  got angry. I told her to leave me alone and started crossing the road without even checking if there is a car on the road or not. She still saved me. I was so rude to her she still saved me." Noor started crying even more. "It's all my fault bhai. It's all my fault."
