Chapter 38

Sufyaan and Kehara are clearing the living room. Yesterday after Kehara returned from the park, Khurshid told her something she already knew. She asked for sometime so that she could pray Istekhara. She did not saw a dream but when she woke up this morning she knew what her answer would be. But she is not ready to announce her decision before Aman answers her each and every question.

"So what have you decided?" Sufyaan asked picking up the cushion they removed for vacuuming the couch.

"About what?" Kehara asked picking another cushion.

"Kehara you very well know what I'm talking about."

"And you also very well know I don't want to answer."

"Why?"

Kehara finally looked up and said "Because I have few questions to be answered."

"By whom?"

"Your best friend."

"Kehara what questions? What is going on in that weird mind of yours."

"Bhai! I just want to be sure this time. I cannot risk hurting myself again."

"Kehara we are talking about Aman. He is not like Noman. He will never hurt you."

"I still want to be sure Bhai."

"But Kehara."

Before Kehara could reply someone said "Let her clear all her doubts Sufyaan. Go ahead Kehara. I'm here to answer all your questions."

Kehara froze. She did not turn around to see Aman. Instead she started walking towards Sufyaan. once she was standing next to her brother she slowly turned.She is looking down as if she is afraid of Aman.

"What is he doing here?" Kehara whispered.

"How am I suppose to know that.Wait I will ask him." Before Kehara could stop him he said "Aman my sister wants to know what are you doing here?"

Kehara closed her eyes and shook her head.

"I'm here to answer your sister's questions."

Kehara slowly looked up and when she saw Aman was already looking at her she looked down again.

"We can sit down. government does not charge Tax on that." Sufyaan said and Aman chuckled. Kehara did not move. Aman sat down on the couch next to where he was standing. Sufyaan took Kehara's hand in his and made her sit.

"So Kehara, come on clear all your doubts."

Kehara was quiet for few seconds not moving at all. Then she look at her brother. Sufyaan nodded indicating her to speak.She looked towards Aman who is smiling brightly.

"Why are you smiling?"

"Ok. I didn't expect that question. Because it's sunnah!" Aman exclaimed smiling.

Kehara narrowed her eyes.

"Kehara what are you waiting for?" Sufyaan asked.

"Nothing."

"Then start."

She nodded. Taking a deep breath she said "Your mom is forcing you to marry me?"

"No!" Aman said frowning.

"Your dad?"

"No!"

"Dadajaan?"

"No!"

"Ya Allah Noor?"

"NO NO NO!"

"Then why do you want to marry me!?"
