Chapter 31.

"Aman answer me. Why were you so upset about Kehara having a boyfriend?"

"Well.." Aman started but was cut by Afzal.

"The truth please."

Aman thought for few minutes but was unable to find a satisfying answer.

"Aman?"

"I Don't know Afzal."

Afzal smiled and said "You need to find that out really fast because." Afzal took a dramatic pause and after few seconds said "Kehara's aunt has asked Kehara's hand in marriage for her son."

Aman closed his eyes. He is lying  on his bed and this conversation of him with Afzal is playing continuously in his head. He is stressed out to such a level that he had put his phone in the bowl of cereal instead of a spoon. He don't know what he should do. He is not sure about his feelings. That is what he thinks but the truth is he is afraid. He is afraid because he don't want to get rejected by her father. He is afraid because he don't want to lose a friend like Sufyaan. But most of all he is afraid of Kehara. What if she don't have feelings for him just the way he has for her. She is really close to his family and if anything goes wrong all the friendship will go for a toss. Aman closed his eyes and covered his face with a pillow when an idea came in his mind. He removed the pillow and smiled. He made his way towards the bathroom to make wudu. He decided to pray istekhara.

Mr. Khan is reading a business magazine sitting on his bed. Mrs. Khan is applying lotion on her hands staring the mirror blankly.

"What's wrong with Aman?" Mrs.Khan asked who is really worried for her son. Mr. Khan smiled and said

"He is in love."

Mrs. Khan's eyes widened and she turned around to face her husband.

"What!?"

"Yup."

"He told you?"

"No."

"Then how do you know?"

"Because I'm his father."

"How do you know?"

"Okay I told you about Zara right?" Mrs.Khan nodded." So I told Aman about her and he freaked out as if I told him to marry an alien."

"Maybe he don't like her."

"Yeah but he did not said I don't want to marry her. He said I want to concentrate on my work now." Mr. Khan said trying to mimic Aman. Mrs.Khan did not look satisfied by the answer so Mr. Khan kept his magazine on the side table and said "look even I was a young boy once. So I know what all this excuses mean." Her unsatisfied expression changed to disappointed Expression.

"What happened Mehru?"

"Nothing."

"Mehru!"

Mrs. Khan hesitated  at first but said"I always wanted Aman to Marry Kehara."

Mr. Khan blinked in surprise.

"Kehara?"

"Yeah.I love her. She is so sweet,kind and always ready to help. She is such a sweetheart."

"I never thought about that before."

"Why will you? She is your employee's daughter and your employee as well."

"Well it is true and I do see it as a problem but kehara is a good girl. And I really like her. But I don't know. As I said I never thought about this before."
