New Girl In The City

Chapter 51.

Ok so some were asking me when I will update. So here it is. But it is small and not edited. I was not planning to update today but those messages made me write. Enjoy:)

Hurt.
Broken.
Shattered.

This is not the first time Kehara is going through them. First time she met those three devils when the doctor informed her about her mom's cancer. Second time, when Noman told her about Shazia. Third time, when her mom left the world. And now again.

After Sufyaan informed her about Aman , he asked her to come as soon as she can. Sufyaan left with his father and Mr. Khan left for show low where the plain was crashed. Kehara's uncle booked her ticket and now she is at the airport waiting for her flight. Seeing her condition her uncle offered to come with her but she refused. She knows he cannot afford two tickets. And as her father and brother are busy they could not buy her the ticket and neither could they transfer money. Her father will pay her uncle but as of now he has to pay and she did not want him to go out of the way just to help her.

Although it is very difficult to act civil in public but kehara is trying her best. All she wants to do now is cry. But still she is managing to sit there without crying. She is calling her brother and father every now and then to get update about Aman. They are still on their way and it will take few more hours for them to reach but she cannot resist herself. She is behaving normal so she can at least trouble them with her calls.

Soon their was announcement for her flight and now she is in the plane.  It's difficult for her to survive without Aman's update for such a long time but she has no other option. After an hour she is finally in the air.

She came here crying she is leaving crying.

"Ok so there are two hospitals where the victims are taken. Summit healthcare regional medical centre and show low veterans affairs health care clinic. So I will go to summit and you both go to veterans. Check properly. And as soon as you find Aman call me. Ok?" Sufyaan said and both fathers nodded.

Mr. Khan started walking. Sufyaan stopped her father and said "Please take care of him. And don't leave him alone. You are fine right?"

"I don't know. I'm scared what will happen when Kehara arrives."

"She will be fine InshaAllah. She is a strong girl and you know that."

"Aman is her husband. No one is strong enough to deal such a situation. Anyways I will go now. You take care and let us know if you find Aman."

Sufyaan nodded and Khurshid left.

Sufyaan is acting normal as if nothing happened. He has no option. He is with Aman's father and father in-law. If he breaks down who will be there for them. But Aman is his best friend and he it is killing him inside. He is just hoping Aman is fine. Afzal when to the hotel directly to keep their luggage. He will join them in some time. After an hour Afzal came.

"Sufyaan any news?"

"No. He is not in this hospital."

"Ok. Did your father find anything?"

"No. He is not their either. They are coming back."

"Where can he vanish?"

"I don't know. They are saying there are many people missing and people are trying to find them near where the plain crashed."

"Let's do one thing. We will drop your father and uncle to the hotel and then we will go there and search. "

"Good idea."

As Sufyaan and Khurshid are not at home Kehara is at Aman's house. As soon as she entered the house all their memories in that house came flooding her. Although there are very less memories but even they are hurting her now. She is trying not to cry in front of Mrs. Khan and Noor. She wants to be strong for them. They all are sitting in the living room quietly.

"I think we should call them." Noor said finally breaking the silence.

Kehara and Mrs. Khan looked up and nodded. Noor dialed her father's number.

"Speaker." Mrs. Khan said.

Noor nodded.

"Hello."

"Assalamu alayekum Dad. Any news?"

"No."

"Did you check the hospital?" Mrs. Khan asked.

"Yes we did. He is not there."

"Ya Allah." Mrs. Khan said and closed her eyes.

"Don't worry Dad. I'm sure he is fine. You will find him soon." Kehara said with confidence and Noor and her mother looked at Kehara in surprise.

"InshaAllah. Look I'm a little busy now I will call you later. Allahhafiz."

"AllahHafiz." All three of them said together and Noor disconnected the call.

They were quiet for some time and Mrs. Khan said.

"Kehara you are fine?"

Kehara looked up and after few seconds of staring nodded her head.

"You?"

"I'm fine."

Noor looked at them and then shouted.

"Stop acting! None of us are fine. Bhai is Missing!!"

"Noor calm down." Mrs. Khan said.

"No mom. At least we should not act in front of each other. Bhai is missing mom. Maybe he won't return and you both are scared of it! Just admit it!"

"Noor. Sit down." Kehara said calmly.

Noor sat down and kehara said "Noor I know you are worried and scared for Aman. But that does not mean you will think whatever you want. Don't be negative. Aman will come back!" Kehara said stressing on the last part.

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because he I know."

"How?"

"A wife's gut feeling."

Noor smiled slightly.

"Kehara go rest." Mrs. Khan said.

"No I'm fine."

"No Kehara go."

"But what if Daddy,dad or Bhai calls when I'm sleeping. What if Aman calls!"

"Then we will answer it. Keep your phone here and go."

"But I don't want to sleep."

"Look at your face kehara." Noor said.

"Trust me Noor I don't care about it now."

"But what if Bhai returns and you are looking like this." Noor said pointing towards her face. Kehara finally smiled.

"Now go Kehara. Noor is right." Mrs. Khan said smiling slightly.

" Ok." Kehara stood up and paused.

Mrs. Khan understood and said "Go and sleep in Aman's room."

Kehara looked at her and then nodded. Mrs. Khan knows kehara needs strength now. And maybe she will feel better around his things. 

Kehara slowly opened the door. She is confused if she should go inside or not. She finally stepped in. She took a deep breath. Suddenly their memories in that room came in her mind. She saw his car keys on the table and took it in her eyes. This time car memories attacked her. She kept in back in it's place. She saw that his shirt was still on his bed. She took it in her eyes and started walking towards the cupboard. She opened it and kept the shirt in it's place. She saw a Navy blue shirt. It's the same shirt he was wearing when she met him for the first time after their Nikah. Finally a tear escaped her eyes. She took a deep breath and wiped her tear.

"Come back soon. I'm waiting for you."

Kehara is trying to be strong for everyone. But the question is how long can she act normal when she is dying inside.
